Baby, I Can Now Drive A Car
September 30, 2008
Last week, I took up a 5-day driving lesson. Though I was a little disappointed with the way things are managed in the driving school, in the end, goal was achieved. I now know how to drive. ![]()
I decided to take up formal lessons because informal ones doesn’t work well with me. I had a number of sessions with a friend previously but I always end up saying “enough!” after 15 minutes or so. Another thing is that I am a little worried of wrecking his car once panic struck me and though he has a car insurance, I don’t want to bother him with the hassles of processing papers just in case.
So last Saturday, I have managed to drive from Manila to Cavite (around 35km). I still need to polish some bad habits and to perfect some skills.
Pay Right At The Caribbean
September 24, 2008
I’ve always dreamed of a carribean cruise and experience the sun and all the nice view in sight while sipping a cool cocktail. My only concern is that I am seasick and gets dizzy when riding a boat. So, instead of cruising, I am thinking of staying in a carribean villa instead. I wonder how much a Caribbean villa rentals would cost me? I hope it doesn’t empty my bank account.
“THE” Day Happenings
September 18, 2008
I have less than half an hour and “THE” day is over.
I started the day reading text greetings from friends and replying back with a thank you. I then checked the sites I usually visit and then went through the web development project I’m currently busy with. Ate a half mooncake around 11am and ate lunch at 12:30.
I went back testing and developing the project and then received a text message informing me that my good friend Cris is confined at the hospital since Tuesday because of difficulty in breathing caused by a clog in his artery.
Dealing With Suckers
September 15, 2008
I was a little disappointed a few days back with the way things were turning out. I know this for a fact but I just can’t help but ask, “Why are there people who’ll still ask for your left arm after lending your right one in good faith?”
Life will always surprise us indeed. Be thankful for the little discomforts he is throwing your way because this makes life a little more exciting. I just wish that they would stop making things difficult and start considering the people who are affected.
May I learn how to deal with people who are like vacuum cleaners who would suck you clean of dirt and all.
Weight Problems
September 10, 2008
I’m over weight.
I think I need to be more serious in regulating my diet. Not just in terms of quantity but in my eating time and physical activity as well.
I only eat 2 meals a day. One at 1PM and the other at 7PM. However, my lack of physical activity plus my slowing metabolism seems to be multiplying my food consumption. So I think I’ll follow the advice of a friend doctor of totally cutting out on rice and probably try diet pills to suppress my appetite.
This will be scheduled after my “THE” day…
A Piece Of Me
September 2, 2008
With my love for taking photos, it is only natural for me to want to share my shots. Aside from showcasing them in my photoblog, I have already managed to give 2 framed shots for a gift and I’m glad that the recipients liked it. Two other framed pictures now hangs in our receiving area as well. I also managed to find among SM’s picture frames an interesting item that I decided to place in my room.
Hopefully with my newly acquired camera, I’ll be able to take more snapshots of scenes and things worthy of being framed.
Too Much Reliance On Meds
September 2, 2008
My relatives abroad have been frequently asking me to check on prices of some meds lately. Not those that cure common colds and flu but those that promises to improve one’s physical appearance: from skin lighting, to weight losing like Fentraphen, to appetite suppressants. And with this I have noticed one thing, this meds are quite expensive costing around 35 to 70 pesos per capsule!
Surprisingly, they sell big time. This only shows that some people wants to improve their looks without sweating it out. The “instant and convenient” mentality have taken them over.
Health Plans For 2009
September 2, 2008
I have long been wanting to go to a gym with cardio equipments. I know that I can simply jog on the streets for free and save me thousands of pesos a year for membership but stray dogs in the morning really worries me.
I do not plan to develop muscles like that of people using legal steroids. I just want to get rid of the fats that I have easily gained from spending long hours in front of my computer and make my muscles a little firmer. I need a more active lifestyle if I want to be healthy. I think I’ll be saving for that membership in time for next year.
My Final Quest
August 5, 2008
I was blessed this year to be able to acquire some gadgets I want. However, the sad part of human nature have taken hold of me… wanting more.
I am on another money saving quest and this time, it’s for a laptop. I promised myself that after this, I’ll be happy and I will stop buying things and start saving.
God willing, I’ll be able to come up with the money by November in time for my friend’s return from his work in Hong Kong. He said that laptops are much cheaper there compared here in the Philippines. Worst comes to worst, there will always be a next time. Wish me luck! ![]()
Plight Of My Flights
July 30, 2008
We were asked by my employer to get our passports five years ago. We were having a new product then and by fate, one of us had to go to Japan to assist in the phase-in. Sadly, now at the point of expiration, my passport didn’t even had the privilege of being stamped.
Hope rekindled when my sister said that she’ll be coming home this December and wants our family to spend Christmas in Hong Kong. But with the recent change in her plan means that the vacation will have to take the back seat for now.
I think I need to plan for my own travel. Hopefully next year, I have enough savings to see BKK. God willing.
