My Final Quest
August 5, 2008
I was blessed this year to be able to acquire some gadgets I want. However, the sad part of human nature have taken hold of me… wanting more.
I am on another money saving quest and this time, it’s for a laptop. I promised myself that after this, I’ll be happy and I will stop buying things and start saving.
God willing, I’ll be able to come up with the money by November in time for my friend’s return from his work in Hong Kong. He said that laptops are much cheaper there compared here in the Philippines. Worst comes to worst, there will always be a next time. Wish me luck! ![]()
Plight Of My Flights
July 30, 2008
We were asked by my employer to get our passports five years ago. We were having a new product then and by fate, one of us had to go to Japan to assist in the phase-in. Sadly, now at the point of expiration, my passport didn’t even had the privilege of being stamped.
Hope rekindled when my sister said that she’ll be coming home this December and wants our family to spend Christmas in Hong Kong. But with the recent change in her plan means that the vacation will have to take the back seat for now.
I think I need to plan for my own travel. Hopefully next year, I have enough savings to see BKK. God willing.
Lack Of PR Won’t Stop Me From Earning
July 27, 2008
The big G have just recently updated it’s rank system and I’m pretty sure that most bloggers have noticed the change in that tiny green bar of theirs.
I Set No Corner have again dropped to zero after enjoying PR2 for approximately two months. This will mean that opportunities for money making will decrease as well. However, unlike the first time it happened, I am not that affected with this second drop. Why? Because I’ve found a non-PR dependent way to earn online.
Books Have A Cause
July 11, 2008
There is a book for everyone and once in a while, we happen to read a book that changes our life and our perspective for the better. A book that encourages us to go on when we think things are getting tough, a book that inspires us to continue dreaming despite all the disappointments that came our way. What book made that kind of difference in your life?
In my case, Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist boosted my spirit during the time I was feeling lost. It inspired me to seek for my own personal legend and trust the universe to pave the right way for me. It taught me that the real treasure is not all about finding precious jewels and gold but enriching yourself with life experiences that makes you a better person.
At first, you might think of his concepts a little like New Age teachings. However, the best-selling of all books itself taught that God gives the desires of the person He finds delight (Psalm 37:4) and that He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
On To A Happy Place
July 5, 2008
Born in an era where most kids wants to be a doctor when they grow up and dreams of seeing Disneyland, I guess a part of me still wants to experience the magic of Mickey’s kingdom despite of how the times have changed.
With a lot of affordable airfares and a short flight away to Hong Kong, entering the magical land of Disney is now possible even if you are on a tight budget compared to ten years ago. If you are more than willing to set the sky as your limit, you can even go for a fun and exciting Disney cruises.
Hopefully, if plans pushes through, I might be able to visit the theme park this December. Keeping my fingers crossed on that…
Meet My Julia
July 3, 2008
I have always longed for the day that I can finally call you mine. I thought that you’ll just remain a dream that I’ll forever hold in my heart. Every time I tried to pursue you, fate seems to always cut me in my path. But I told myself, everything happens in its perfect time.
Waiting has always been my weakness. There were several instances that I lost sight of you. I was tempted to enjoy the pleasures readily promised by others. However, when the thrill have finally subsided, I still find myself longing for you and I am saddened by the fact that you have consequently became more distant.
Make Getting Out Of Debt A Priority
June 27, 2008
We live in a funny world of commercialism and lack of abundance. We commonly hear people complaining about how meager, compared to their needs, their salaries are. Yet here are advertisements enticing us to buy this and that in the name of looking good, convenience, and being in fashion.
This often leads people to resort to different forms of money lenders like personal cash loans and abuse of credit card usage. I once got entangled in high debt and I must tell you that it was such a pain especially seeing the interests. Good thing that before I left my job, I was able to do some debt consolidation. I also received a separation pay enough for me to make my debt settlement and still got some extra cash left.
