David Cook - Billy Jean
June 27, 2008
I can only thank Chris Cornell for this. David Cook did a powerful vocal rendition of this song.

Syesha Mercado - Got To Get You Into My Life
June 20, 2008
She did pretty well on the studio version compared to her life performance. She was stiff and nervous back then. A lot of people predicted that she’ll be voted off since she was consistently in the bottom three. But she proved a lot of people wrong.

Michael Johns - It’s All Wrong But It’s Alright
June 13, 2008
Though I think Johns had the potential, I wasn’t really that impressed with him until he sang this song. That is why it came as a surprise to me when he was eliminated the week after.

Alexandrea Lushington - Spinning Wheel
June 6, 2008
America just found a new Idol. Since I am happy with the outcome, I decided to feature four songs/performances that impressed me during the show.
During Hollywood Week, Josiah Leming enjoyed more airtime than top 20 contestant Alexandrea Lushington. That’s why I was surprised when she performed Spinning Wheel. It was cool and it was funky.

David Cook Wins American Idol Season 7
May 24, 2008
If the finals night of American Idol Season 7 was a real boxing match, I guess the ringside will be full of medical people ready with their disposable gloves because it was indeed one hell of a match. Both contestants came in strong in their own respective rights.
I have to admit that hands down, David Archuleta outperformed David Cook that night. Though I don’t think that it was a knockout match in favor of Archuleta as Simon Cowell thinks, I would have given rounds 2 and 3 to the young David.
After The Bout, Which David Will Fall?
May 22, 2008
I just saw the finals night of American Idol Season 7 and what can I say? I’m actually speechless. Not because it was a stunning finals night but because aside from the thousands of people inside the theater, there was really nothing grand with it. Well, Simon did wear a suit for a change.
I am actually a bit disappointed with David Cook. This was the moment where he should have shined all the more and yet I think he lacks the luster on finals night. Hands down, David Archuleta picked a better song for round two.
Archuleta might actually win Idol but expect Cook to deliver songs that will heat up the charts. Lastly, do you think that it was indeed a knockout? I don’t.
Two Davids Were Too Much For Syesha Mercado
May 19, 2008
When I said at the start of the season that the next Idol might come from the daughters of Eve, I had Syesha Mercado in mind. Sadly, she was voted off from the Top 3 contestants last Wednesday.
I admired Syesha since Hollywood week for the spirit she displayed. She lost her voice on her audition day but managed to show a great performance on her second turn. She picks the vocally challenging songs most of the time all throughout the competition and after being in the bottom three for a number of times, ended up in the top three and became the last lady standing.
