August 2, 2010
One of the hard thing when you want to slim down is losing that big belly. A lot of expert have been saying that trimming down the waist line may be the hardest part of it all. This will definitely require extra efforts.
A worst thing that may happen is if your belly have already developed stretch marks. Besides losing the belly, you’d definitely want to lose those marks as well. Here are some home remedies that will help you do the latter:
Use lavender oil three times a day. Apply it on problem areas.
Application of aloe vera gels will initially lighten it as well. With continued use, it will eventually remove them.
Applying apricot scrubs will gradually remove them.
Of course the above home remedy solutions will require a considerable amount of time. If you want a faster stretch mark cure, you may want to consult a professional instead.
Losing Fats
August 1, 2010
Some people loves going to the gym. There is a certain pleasure that some person gets by sweating. Add to that the fact the you are losing all those unwanted fats in your body. It is really a nice activity to free your mind of all the pressures from the workplace.
However, most people are not that into looking over their health. Free times are usually spent pigging out. Though it is also a satisfying activity, fat burning is neglected. No wonder that some reports say that the number of obese people is increasing.
That is probably the reason why the market for fat burners are also in the boom. Some hydroxycut reviews presents you with its pros and cons. It is now up to you to decide if you’re up to taking them.
Acne Control
August 1, 2010
I have previously made an entry on how to handle acne. If those didn’t manage to do the job, here are a few more home remedies that you may want to try and hopefully will do the trick:
You can use fresh lime juice mixed with half a glass boiled milk. Apply on your acne area. It also works with blackheads and cracked skin.
You may want to go the sweet route. Mix 2 tablespoon of white and 1 of brown. Wet it a little then rub on face.
If you are in to taking wheatgrass juice, drinking it is said to also do the trick.
These acne treatment uses materials available at home. However, if after some use and the acnes are still there, you may want to visit a doctor for medication.
Giving In To Cravings
June 6, 2010
People who are serious in to losing weight knows how difficult it is to resist a food craving that do not add well to one’s diet. Let’s face it, some of the foods we love to get our hands on are in fact… “sinful”. Some of them even already comprises 1/4 of the recommended daily calories we needed.
However, we need not totally resist our cravings. Here are some tips on how to satisfy it:
1. Downsizing. Eat a smaller amount. Content yourself with one or two pieces of it. If you have a friend, share a serving with him.
2. Substitute a lower calorie treat. Sorbet over ice cream.
3. Allot a room for the food you really want in your daily calorie intake.
4. Resist trigger foods. There are foods that falls in to the category “once you pop, you cannot stop.” Never even attempt to take one bite from them.
It is said that the more we deprive ourselves of our cravings, the more we indulge in them afterward. So give yourself a break from all the foods that burn fat that you are taking and allow yourself a little of your craving.
Pill Testing
June 3, 2010
What do you do when someone offers you diet pills that work? Will you buy them because they work? Will you decline because they are diet pills?
It is probably rare to see those two words together. A working diet pills is something that is hard to find in the market. By doing a hit and miss purchasing, you’ll probably find the effective product after a number of failures. Skeptics even believe that the “effective” ones might only be due to a placebo effect. I just pray that as one tests the products out there in the market, no harmful side effects be encountered.
When it comes to this products, I always stand by to my conviction that it is always advisable to consult your physician.
Trimming The Waist Line
May 29, 2010
I weigh myself this morning and was happy to read that I am now at 69 kilos despite that I have become undisciplined lately in terms of diet and exercising. I can also tell that I am indeed losing weight because I can now wear the clothes I have already shelved.
However, reducing my waistline is such a challenging feat. Though it is decreasing in measurement, I want the improvement to happen faster. I would like to try some ab workouts but would want to do them after I reach a more desirable waistline. I wouldn’t want to have a muscular belly of fats. My goal for now is to learn of workouts that can burn as much belly fats as possible before developing my abs.
Is that the right way to go? I would appreciate your inputs on this one.
Healthy Grilling
May 28, 2010
The heavy downpour of rain yesterday morning could be a sign that summer is ending. Even today, it is still a bit gloomy. We’ll be counting days before the rainy seasons but I guess people who wants to go in a last-minute summer vacation can still catch up. So better hit the beach while you still can. If you are also planning to hold a grill party, here are some tricks to reduce producing heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) which are said to be linked with cancer.
1. Cruciferous vegetables. Broccoli and cabbage are said to contain sulforaphane that helps in clearing DNA-damaging compounds more quickly. Adding these stuffs to your party is a healthy practice.
2. Marinate meats. Scientist believes that the antioxidants in marinades reduces HCA formation. Red meats marinated in beer or wine for 2 hours can reduce HCA formation by 92-99%.
3. Go for fish. Compared to meat products, seafood has a lower amino acid content and requires shorter grilling time.
4. Go lean. PAHs forms during flare-ups. Prevent this from happening by trimming the excess fat from your meats. Remove the skin in chicken meat and select lean cuts.
5. Flavor meats with rubs. Rosemary are found to reduce HCA levels by 100% when rubbed onto meats before they are grilled. Other hebs that are believed to have similar effects includes basil, mint, sage and oregano.
Be Fresh, Be Breakout Free
May 15, 2010
Acne is a nightmare for everyone. It’s terror only varies across different age range but it is safe to say that nobody likes to have one on their face. Lucky me for I do not remember having major outbreaks even during my adolescence years.
To the not so lucky, it is important that we observe a clean and healthy lifestyle to minimize the effect of outbreaks. You may probably have the best acne treatment but without healthy living, it will do you no good. It is best to observe some reminders with regards to acne:
- Do not pop, squeeze, or pick at acne. Doing so do not make it disappear but only aggravates the condition.
- Clean after sweating. Gently cleaning the skin, especially those under a hat or helmet, can help prevent breakouts.
- Shampoo daily if your hair is oily. Oil from your hair can clog pores that can result to acne breakout.
- Treat acne. There are products that can be bought over the counter. Check for products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
- Severe acne requires professional help. Consult your dermatologist.
Skin and Summer
May 15, 2010
Women are more prone to worry about wrinkles than men. As hard as it is to fight back aging, the summer sun may aggravate things. It is best to observe the following especially now that temperature is hitting as high as 36 degrees:
Avoid the sun.
You may love your tan now but by the time you reach the age of 50, you’ll wish you’ve stayed indoors.
Use sunscreen.
It may not necessarily have to be a suntan lotion. There are everyday lotions these days that goes with an SPF rating.
Wear sunglasses.
This will help in protecting the area around your eyes. You certainly wouldn’t want wrinkles on it, do you?
Drink your water.
This will keep you hydrated. It is best to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.
