Sun Protect

January 29, 2012

The sun can be a little harsh these days even without directly looking at them. If you are constantly out in the street when the sun is at its peek, may I suggest that you make it a point to wear Native Sunglasses. You may reason out that you are not used to wearing one but give your eyes a favor… wear one. Also, protect your skin by wearing a sunblock and walk under a shade whenever you could. A sun burn may be tolerable but a skin cancer is not.

Emotional Assistance for Calamity Victims

January 28, 2012

Our world is experiencing so much natural disaster these days ranging from heat waves to flash floods. In Cagayan De Oro City, one victim of the recent flash flood even committed suicide and several others are in a state of depression. Indeed, losing almost everything in one snap is too much for anyone to handle.

It is only right for the government to seek depression rehab treatment centers to assist such victims in recovering. It is hard to start life alone. A good support system will definitely be of great help to stand on both feet again.

Go For Good Dental Care

December 31, 2011

Our health should always be a priority. What use is working hard for a living when what you earn from it only goes to doctor fees and medication.

A part of our well being that could probably go neglected is our dental care. Contrary to what most people think, results of poor dental hygiene is not only limited to cavity, gum disease, and bad breath. Studies also showed that this may contribute to other major health problems. This includes hurting your heart, affecting your memory, worsen the body’s control of blood sugar, increase risk for respiratory infection, and may pose difficulty in having a baby.

It is suggested that we rinse our teeth with mouthwash, floss before brushing, use a sfot toohbrush, and brush for a full two minutes. With this, we might be able to see those medication cart less often.

Detoxifying Your Home

June 23, 2011

The recurring call to go greener only proves one thing, we are now living in an environment that is less natural. Even our homes are packed with harmful and toxic materials that we fail to notice. Such case is most alarming especially if there are children in our household. Kids have no knowledge on harmful things and everything is simply worth “tasting”.

Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) recently released five recommendations that can help lessen household hazards:

1. Dust and vacuum regularly.
Dust is a main hazard for children and adults. It is best to wet mop or vacuum the floors twice a week. Dusting should also be done on fixtures, cabinets, and other items.

2. Use nontoxic cleaners.
Choose baking soda and vinegar mixed with water as cleaners over the toxic cleaners.

3. Renovate right.
Dusts and fumes from paints can be hazardous to children and pregnant women. Better seclude the area being renovated with plastic sheets and duct tapes.

4. Chose your plastics wisely.
Though labeled “microwave-safe” harmful chemicals from plastic can contaminate your food. It is best to use glasses or ceramics for food storage.

5. Minimize mercury.
There are fishes known to contain low mercury as compared to others: Atlantic mackerel, herring, rainbow trout, wild or canned salmon, and tilapia.

Acne Day To Lovely Day

May 29, 2011

One of the horrors of growing up is encountering acne. This could be the worst nightmare adolescence dread. A tiny mark is enough to ruin a bright sunny day. This problem are often worsen by trying out medications with unfounded results. We can always ask for advice and opinion but I still think the best approach is to consult the experts. See a doctor. Don’t just try an acnepril for the sake of trying, ask those who tried it to learn how effective the treatment can be.

You need not be living a daily horror. You can turn a dark day in to a fun day just by taking the correct course of action.

Fashion Challenge

May 21, 2011

I read an interesting fashion dare article the other day where a girl allowed her boyfriend to choose her week’s office and weekend outfit from the thing available in her closet. The first few days were impressive but turned frustrating latter in the week. Her frustration is not from the choices her boyfriend was making but from her inability to choose clothes to her liking. Though she seemed to have learned a lesson or two, she is not considering doing a part two of it.

I was now thinking, what if the dare goes the other way around. I wonder how a girl will react matching outfits from her boyfriend’s wardrobe. A man’s closet can be a little boring as we seems to be fond of buying clothes of the same type. When we are into parish clothing, expect to see a cabinet full of it. If we are in to shirts and shorts, have a closet full of it. Now, that will definitely be a good challenge.

Weight Control

May 6, 2011

I have no statistical evidence but based on my observation, kids nowadays are prone to be overweight. I am now hearing of children between age 5-10 years old who are having weight issues. It is alarming that such age can be prone to overweight complications like high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, breathing problem, gallbladder disease etc.

Weight need to be controlled. We may find chubby kids cute but this should not be reason to let them be. Overweight adults should also take measures to trim down their pounds. Consult a dietician that can help you eat healthy and eat right. It is never too early to make healthy living a goal. Read oxyelite pro reviews to learn if they are compatible to your lifestyle and learn if it could help you in your goal.

Bottom line, excess can be bad and in the case of our health, can even be costly.

Pursuing Youthful Looks

March 31, 2011

The idea of having a fountain of youth is a proof of man’s desire to stay young. It is a testament that we are not content with just staying healthy but we also want to stay young. Aesthetics over substance. I do not want to sound hypocritical here. I admit, that at my age, I sometimes look back to my youthful days.

Such desire was the reason for the emergence of a lot of products and procedures that promises a youthful looking result. But it is important not to fall for some youthology scam that offers nothing but empty promises. In my opinion, an honest testimony from credible endorsers and product reviewers still counts the most.

However, if you plan to pursue the search for that effective fountain of youth, it is best if you also give equal attention to your health. What good is good looks if we have a deteriorating health.
