If you are verging more on doing the latter, think again. There were a number of “ridiculous” ideas in the past that, with a strong follow through, made their creators rich. One of them is the 70′s fad Pet Rock. Pet Rock is basically a simple rock marketed as hassle free pets. They were packaged in a box with hays and a pet manual. They were sold at $3.95 and in just six months, Dahl managed to earn $15M from it!

Genius isn’t it? So don’t just abandon your ideas if you really believed in them. Find people who will support you and by all means, do it!

From the fountain of youth from the West to the Elixir of immortality from the East. The elusive thirst to halt ageing cannot be denied since time immemorial. I think that is why in every street corner, I am certain that there won’t be a spot without a health or beauty center, to the more “into it”, a spa. Medical practitioners making hefty sum of money these days? Make a guess? Binggo! Dermatologists, cosmetic and aesthetic surgeons. So don’t be fascinated seeing celebs who endorses the best wrinkle cream , or those, whose faces do not move when they act, even Cleopatra soaked and bathe in milk to preserve her beauty. Looks like vanity is here to stay.

With a lot of unnatural intakes we have these days, it seems that cancer will replace heart attacks from being the number one killer disease of humanity.

Just recently, the first lady president of the country was diagnosed of having colon cancer, a friend’s dad underwent an operation for it, and another one’s relative died from the said disease.

With all the chemicals added to our food, we need to take extra effort to keep ourselves healthy by eating the right stuffs, taking supplements like colon cleanser, and doing regular exercises. As the saying goes, health is wealth.

After New Zealand, it is now Canada’s turn to accept immigrants to perform agricultural jobs. The Philippine government is even offering courses in meat processing and cow milking for applicants.

I guess with the current state of the Philippines where opportunity is elusive for those over 30 years old and non-degree holders, handling cows and cattle supplies will definitely be better than staying in the country hoping that things will be better sooner.

This is one sad truth, we have become one, if not the biggest exporter of global manpower all because of poverty.

“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the LORD. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! (Jeremiah 18:6)

God knows how to bring salvation to your family, your friends, your community, and your world. Accordingly, He looks for those who will allow Him to shape them into the instruments He requires to do His divine work. Clay has no plans of its own, no aspirations for service, nor reluctance to perform its given task. It is just clay. Moldable, pliable, totally submissive to the will of its master.

At times we excitedly announce to God: “I’ve discovered my strengths and gifts, and now I know how I can best serve You!” At other times we inform Him, “I am aware of what my weaknesses are, so I know which tasks I’m not capable of doing for You.” Yet this is not characteristic of clay. God is not limited to working with our strengths (2 Cor. 12:9–10). He can mold us into whatever kind of instrument He requires. When God’s assignment demands humility, he finds a servant willing to be humbled. When His work requires zeal, He looks for someone He can fill with His Spirit. God uses holy vessels, so He finds those who will allow Him to remove their impurities. It is not a noble task, being clay. There is no to it, nothing boastworthy, except that it is exactly what almighty God is looking for. Compliant, moldable, yielded clay.

If your tendency is to tell the Father what you can and cannot do for Him, submit to His agenda and allow Him to shape you into the person He wants you to be. Like clay.

From Experiencing God
by Henry and Richard Blackaby

INTROSPECTION: It is hard to be clay. It requires a lot of faith to lose one’s self for God especially that God has a habit of revealing things one step at a time. I am a logical person and logic tends to get the best of me. I’m not saying that God is illogical. It’s just my finite mind failing to grasp an infinite knowledge. One thing I know however is that, the safest place to be is in the will of God. May God make my heart believe in that truth.
