Asking for Mountains
August 3, 2008
“Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” (Joshua 14:12)
Caleb’s faith in God never wavered though everyone around him doubted. God convinced Caleb that the children of Israel should enter the Promised Land, but the people were intimidated by giants and fortified cities (Num. 13:28–33). Their disbelief forced Caleb to wait forty years in the wilderness before he finally entered the Promised Land. Even after all those years, Caleb was as confident as ever in God’s power.
Antonio Banderas – Oh What A Circus
August 1, 2008
I almost fainted upon learning what KotsengKuba decided to select for this month! It even drove me to ask for his mushier selection. Lolz. But I guess no matter how much we want to shun from politics, we need to be aware as this affects our lives.

TGIF Presents: KotsengKuba’s Selection For SONA
I wasn’t really fond of the movie-musical Evita until I dug really deep into each song’s lyrics. This is the best. I can’t help but laugh at how they poked pun of politics. Truly, politics is the art of the impossible. ~ KotsengKuba

Evita traces the life of Eva Duarte (later Eva Duarte de Perón) (Madonna) from a child from the lower class to becoming the first lady and spiritual leader of Argentina. Early in the film, Eva is seen as a small girl attempting to attend her father’s funeral in the town of Junin with her mother and siblings. But her father’s wife and other family (who are middle class) ban Eva’s family from entering and carry Eva out screaming after she runs in on her own. Read more…

Put Away Lying
July 27, 2008
Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. (Ephesians 4:25)
Because you are a Christian, your life ought to be permeated with truth. When you were born again, God put the Spirit of truth in you (John 16:13). The Spirit’s role is to guide you into all truth. The Spirit wants to fill your mind with whatever is true (Phil. 4:8). If you allow the Spirit to fill you with God’s truth, you will be truthful in your actions and in your relationships. According to Jesus, this means that your yes will always be yes, and your no will always mean no (Matt. 5:33–37).

God’s Initiatives
July 20, 2008
Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1)
The most dramatic changes in your life will come from God’s initiative, not yours. The people God used mightily in Scripture were all ordinary people to whom He gave divine assignments that they never could have initiated. The Lord often took them by surprise for they were not seeking significant mandates from God. Even so, He saw their hearts, and He knew they were trustworthy.

Godly Sorrow
July 13, 2008
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. (2 Corinthians 7:10)
There is a difference between worldly sorrow and godly sorrow, though both are deeply felt. You can feel genuine sorrow over something you have done. Your mind can become consumed with your failure and offense against God and others. Judas felt this kind of sorrow. He betrayed the Son of God for thirty pieces of silver, the standard price of a slave. Yet his sorrow did not lead him to repent and to seek restoration with his fellow disciples, but rather to a lonely field where, in his anguish, he took his own life (Matt. 27:3–5). Judas carried his sorrow to his grave.

Naruto Manga 407: Message Decoded!
July 7, 2008
Naruto Manga Chapter 407: To Naruto. As the decoding effort continues in the cryptography unit of the Hidden Leaf Village, Shikamaru is growing a little impatient with Naruto who has been looking at the coded message yet is saying nothing the whole time. It was then that he blurted out that it is because he is puzzled why, despite all the numbers, the message started with a katana “ta” character which everyone have mistaken for the number 9. Only Naruto managed to notice this from all those times Jiraiya made him read his handwritten drafts for the past three years. From this development, they figured that Jiraiya’s message could be in a line number, word markers, or pages of any of his written books.
With Kakashi’s suggestion, they looked in to the Come Come Tactics, the book Jiraiya was writing when he was training Naruto. From it, they manage to decode a message saying, “The real one isn’t with them.” They decided to consult it with Fukusaku-sama to see if it’ll make sense to him.
Elsewhere, the six-person Pain prepares to attack the leaf to capture the nine-tail beast.
