Photography Expenses

February 17, 2011

When a person is bitten by the photography bug, it is so hard to turn back. This is one hobby that can be extremely costly to those who are left unchecked. A DSLR with just a kit lens can range from 20,000 pesos to more than a hundred thousand depending on how advance the camera could be.

Lenses can also be a little pain. Unless one decides to focus only on one expertise, one would want a wide angle, a macro, a zoom, and a portrait lens at the very least. Add to it the filters, lights, flash, and other paraphernalias; this hobby could cost a fortune.

Wanting to turn DSLRs to a waterproof cameras will incur additional expenses. It is only practical that if one is into such hobby, one should also make a living out of it.

Islands Worth Seeing

February 17, 2011

Given the means and the opportunity, I think most people would want to include traveling around the world as one item in their to-do list. We only have one planet and we certainly wouldn’t want to be a stranger in it. However, touring the world may not be at all possible. This is a luxury that only a few could afford.

We could probably trim down our goal to a smaller scale like visiting ten places in Europe or in Asia. For those who would make island exploration as their goal. Yahoo! made a list of ten islands worth exploring and this includes:

Bali
Viaques
Easter Island
Ischia
Chiloe
Bora Bora
Key West
Penang
Galapagos
Palm Islands, Dubai

Midnight Hunger Attack

February 10, 2011

I am really not sure why our appetite at times signal us to eat during midnight. For persons like me who stays up late, this might be a little inconvenient as far as diet and availability is concerned. It is during such moment that we often surrender to the urge and forget about our diet. Our favorite stores are closed and restaurant delivery mostly serve customers until 10pm only so we gobble on whatever we could find in the kitchen. In order to avoid the said circumstances, it is wise to stack up on foods that are light and meets our diet requirement.

Giveaway War

January 3, 2011

December was a month jam-packed with events. Event organizers should realize that people often judges an events success based on the impression it left to them. One factor that stays on their minds is the giveaways.

Giveaways are a tricky thing. Give everyone an iPad, everyone will be happy and your event gets the rave you wanted. However, such items will hurt the company’s budget. Organizers need to come up with a good quality tradeshow giveaways that is affordable and useful as well.

Usual items include umbrellas, mugs, pens, lanyards, and baller IDs. But he who’ll come up with something new and unique will definitely get the people’s praise and approval.

Your Take On Insurances

December 18, 2010

Filipinos loathe insurances. I can’t blame them. We live in a country where money to cover even the basics does not come easy. So most people view insurances as an unnecessary expense rather than a worthy investment.

For those that have the right perspective, insurance are often viewed as important but not immediate. Finances are often allocated first to those that are important and immediate. A very acceptable decision as far as priorities are concerned.

However, if you have the means to allocate extra finances, make sure to find a good yet cheap insurance company.

Invest On Good Sleep

December 11, 2010

One of the best things to buy during sale season is a comfortable bedding. Working hard the whole day deserves a good sleep and if your pillows and mattresses are not soft and comfortable, chances are you’ll be irritable in the morning.

Purchasing them during mattress sale may be rewarding if you pay careful attention to the item. If you could lay on it, lay on it. That is the only way to check if they will give the comfort you require.

A good piece usually costs 8,000 to 12,000 pesos. It might be quite a sum but you can only have a good sleep by buying a good bed.

Flu Season Is Up

December 8, 2010

The weather is getting a lot colder but being a tropical country, there will still be moments of heat. This changing pattern is enough to put a person down with colds and flu. With the busiest season of the year, one can’t afford to be sick. Here’s how you can have more advantage against it:

Take Green Tea. They contain polyphenols which is believed to give an immune boost to our body. You can add lemon or honey to improve the taste but do not add milk as proteins are believed to make polyphenols ineffective.

Take Soluble Fibers. A 25 to 38 grams of fiber a day is said to help boost immunity and helps the body recover faster from bacterial infection.

Prolonging Beauty

December 3, 2010

Though people say that beauty is only skin deep, it doesn’t necessarily follow that we should take taking care of it lightly. Though fleeting, we can definitely have it at an extended period of time if we take proper care of it.

Living a healthy lifestyle is a definite must: enough sleep, helathy diet, proper exercise, and an effective beauty product. Some might raise an eyebrow for the last item but with how unnatural things have become, we sure need a little help from beauty products.

Read olay regenerist review and other articles about other brands so that you can have a good judgment on what is appropriate for your skin. People have different skin types and what is good for your friends may not be as effective with you.

Sharp Around

November 26, 2010

I always thought that carrying a knife will surely come in handy. You may never know when you’ll be needing it but will definitely be grateful when the need arises and you have one with you. Other people might feel that it is unsafe to carry such sharp objects around, but a responsible bearer of it can also save a life.

However, it is important that such items be safe to be carried around. You may opt for a Swiss or speed safe knives. You only need to pop it out when needed and store it safe in your pocket when not.

Quick Access Snacks

November 25, 2010

I firmly believe that it is not wise to skip meals because of office works. Deadlines should be met but not to the expense of one’s health. If your job is that demanding and you regularly find yourself postponing lunch, there are healthy snacks that you can keep in your drawer that you can easily nibble in between file saving. Here are a few of them:

[1] Dried fruit and nuts. However, make sure to allot them in considerable portions lest you find yourself over eating them.
[2] Cereals. Get one that is high in protein. This will give you that much needed boost.
[3] Clementines. You may keep it in the drawer or leave them in plain sight.
