Support Earth Hour 2009
March 20, 2009
Support Earth Hour 2009 and help promote awareness that we need to take action to save planet Earth. From the Earth Hour official website we read:
This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.
For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.
VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights for one hour on Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm. If your site runs on a self-hosted WordPress, you might want to check out this plugin as well.
Save the planet, save our race.
This Week’s CNN Featured Hero Is A Filipino
March 6, 2009
If you like this story do not forget to Digg it.
CNN is searching the globe for people whose selflessness, dedication and achievement are as inspiring as the CNN heroes they honored in 2008. This week’s CNN featured hero is a 28 year old Filipino – Efren Peñaflorida Jr.
Ef started a teen group that brings education to kids living in the slums. Their flagship project called Kariton Klasrum, Klinik at Kantin (K4); recreates a school setting in unconventional locations such as the cemetery, city trash dump, slum corners and alleys using a pushcart loaded with books and other educational items. Children ranging from ages 2 to 14 flocks every Saturday to learn reading, writing, arithmetic and English from Ef and his trained teen volunteers.
Share Your Outer Banks Experience
February 28, 2009
The Outer Banks of North Carolina is a landscape of sand bar islands stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean. It prides in its natural, historic, and cultural treasures making it a popular destination for Beach lovers.
I just learned of this spot a few days back and honestly; I’m having a difficult time grasping a scenario where people can enjoy kiteboarding, surfing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, sunbathing, swimming, cultural shows, and museums all in one natural setting. It seems like a beach country club without the exclusivity, more of a community than a vacation place. How I wish we have a similar one here in the Philippines.
Have you been to the Outer Banks? How was your experience?
Everyone Wants An Inviting Home
January 18, 2009
We all want to tidy up our personal spaces and if budget permits, do some house renovations. However, it is important that we have a clear idea of what we want, that we know where to get the best materials, and that we have someone who can give sound and professional advice. Addressing all these factors will save you from the hassles of making mistakes.
Invitinghome.com is a good source for all of these. The site offers a vast gallery of decorating ideas that will help you visualize and come up with the perfect design for your home. The gallery not only showcases pictures but also provides a link to the items, like molding and Corbels, used and available through them.
Yes! You could also buy from their site those hard to find and beautiful products which you fell in love with in their gallery. Details about the item are fully available so you could make an informed decision before you make that purchase. They will not leave you in the dark guessing if those Corbels will match perfectly with your home.
If you are still unsure, you can drop by their showroom at Needham for a consultation with their design professionals. Just bring all important informations including calculations of the project in mind, desired color palettes, and if you have photos of designs that you like, bring them as well.
Three Spots I Enjoyed Most In Ilocos
January 17, 2009
Three days is more than enough for one to appreciate the beauty of Ilocandia. Sadly, three days is not enough to experience and enjoy what the province has to offer. In that span of time, we managed to visit at least ten spots, tried some few local dishes, and met new friends. If my budget permits, I wouldn’t have second thoughts going back to Ilocos.
It is not easy to put in one post the entire experience and so let me start my series with the three spots I enjoyed the most in Ilocos.
Bangui Bay Wind Farm in Bangui, Ilocos Norte.
Lining up the bay of Bangui in Ilocos Norte are twenty windmills towering around 110 meters, all white modern structures in a natural blue sea and blue sky setting! This are the kind of structures the government should be spending on.
If you decide to visit the wind farm, do not content yourself seeing it from the view deck. Continue further down the route but keep an eye on the left side of the road for a sign that will prompt you to turn left to Bangui Bay Wind Power Project.

It is too good to be true! But believe me, I availed a Rudolf plan last year and I can say that I’m happy with it. So better follow that shiny red light before Rudolf becomes out of season. For more details check out Top Hosting Center.
Watch The Pacquiao – Dela Hoya Dream Match
November 29, 2008
Las Vegas will once again host one of the biggest boxing fight this year. The Dream Match, as promoters called it, can be seen on selected SM Cinemas on December 7 at 8 in the morning. Tickets range from 300 to 550 pesos depending on locations.
For those in a tight budget, the event will be aired on DZBB and GMA 7. However, I’m guessing that this will be on a delayed telecast as with previous fights. Expect as well some free public viewing that might be organized in gyms, courts, and bars.
Those who have the means brought about by pork barrels, corruption money, and a good-profit business will most likely fly to vegas to watch the event live. Some, if not most, will be cheering with all their might, not for the Philippine pride but for the possible winnings they could take back home.

All Things Are Pure
October 5, 2008
To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. (Titus 1:15)
Your heart’s condition will be expressed through your life. It will be evident by your attitudes, your words, and your behavior. Jesus said that you can clearly see others only when your own eyes are unobstructed (Luke 6:42). If your vision is hindered by sin, you will not look at others properly.
If your heart is pure, you will approach life without malice. You will not question the motives of everyone around you; you will not doubt the truth of everything others tell you; you will not look for fault in others. Instead, you will look for the good in others, finding what is praiseworthy. You will not be naive or gullible, but you will seek what is good rather than what is evil. If your heart is pure, you will see others the way God sees them (Matt. 6:22).
Have You Heard of MBTs?
September 23, 2008
We all know that walking, especially brisk walking, is a good cardio exercise. Could you imagine the effect if in addition to that, you’ll be wearing a footwear that not only protects your feet but burns calories, tone muscles, and improves posture as well?
This is what MBT shoes, a physiological footwear, claims to do for you. Apparently, each step we take brings pressure in our foot. MBT distributes this load evenly preventing ailments caused by the concentration of such pressure on individual points.
I would love to hear feedbacks from those who have experienced using such footwear before I decide to grab one for myself.
