One of the apparel that is needed in horse back riding is a breech, riding breeches to be exact. They were originally tight on the legs and extends halfway down the calf. Modern designs and materials however have managed to do away with the laces and buckles utilizing spandex, zippers, and velcros.

Anyone who dreams of being an equestrian should invest in good and comfortable riding breeches. Thus, knowing the main types will be of good benefit:

2. Full seat breeches;
3. Jockeys’ breeches (aka silk); and
4. Jodhpurs.

Since horseback riding involves form, it is important that the rider familiarize himself with the types of breeches and choose one that he will be comfortable with.

Happy riding and saddle up!

Tolits Recovered From Swim Bladder Disease

June 12, 2008

I am happy to say that it seems that my pet flowerhorn have survived the swim bladder disease that he had three months ago.

Our whole family was worried then because he was not his usual active self. He just stayed still at the bottom of the tank. With the help of a PALHS forum member, I administered a dissolved 500mg of Mebendazole and Metronidazole for every 10 gallons of water in the tank and did 25% water change everyday for two weeks.

It was a slow recovery but I’m glad that he is okay now.

My Flowerhorn Is Having Swim Bladder Problem

March 6, 2008

Yesterday, I had a scare when Dad called out to me saying that my pet flowerhorn, Tolits, seem to be dying. Huwaatt?! I just saw it earlier and even fed it and noticed nothing strange. So I went downstairs and saw that it was swimming on its side then turned belly up. It was swimming upside down! After a few moments, it managed to go back to an upright position but it is just staying at the bottom of the tank.

I do not know what was happening and so I searched the net and found out that this is a symptom of a swim bladder problem. The problem is that there were several possible reasons causing it. So I rushed to BioResearch and to Cartimar to find a treatment.

Right now, water level was reduced, treatment is administered, and the wastes he excretes are pumped out of the tank regularly. I hope he can recover from this. :(

Just what is a good photo for me? Let me answer that by showing you every Wednesday a good one I discovered from Flickr.

My Zen Creation

November 6, 2007

I got a free Juniper plant last Saturday from a business contact. I have been wanting to have one ever since.

I took the drip tray of my herb box so that I can put the plant in my room. Since the drip tray is way bigger, I used the pebbles, rocks and shells of our aquarium and placed an incense cone in it to create a Zen-like arrangement.

Behold… :D

Catching 153

I was forced against my will to tinker with my Photoshop in order to materialize Jeprocks‘ concept for the teaser poster of their parochial newsletter.

I was satisfied with the result though.
