Are You Fit To Be a Salesman?

March 13, 2010

Graduation season is here and a lot of fresh graduates will soon find themselves lining up in jobs fair, browsing the Sunday ads, or surfing some online recruitment bank. Job hunting!

One of the most common job postings you can see are jobs in sales. Such work is both tiring and rewarding at the same time. Convincing people to buy a certain service or product is a gift only some people possess. I have observed that there are people who can talk through anyone with breeze. Of course it takes the right combination of a believable/necessary product and a skillful salesman. Such people reaps rewards like commissions and bonuses that people under operations have no access to.

So if you think you belong to the salesman type, pursue it and reap some great rewards for it.

Chasing Scales

March 12, 2010

When 2010 kicked in and I realized that I was already 6 kilos overweight, I made a goal to lose it as early as I can and hopefully, attain 60 kilos by the end of the year. I have already lost 4 kilos but it seems that I am stuck to my current weight. It is disappointing to see the scale at the same number week after week when I have 2 more kilos left to lose.

Now that the first quarter of 2010 is ending, I want to add some more effort to my quest by being strict on my daily diet. I have comprised my “no rice policy” too often and have gave way to my sweet tooth on several occasions. Yes I am choosing to go natural instead of the weight loss drinks path. I want to sweat out on this one.

Thinking of Going Back to School

March 12, 2010

I will be out for the afternoon to attend a friend’s graduation piano recital. It was her second degree course and wondered what the hell was she thinking going back to school. Of course that was just the pressure creeping up on her. In fact I myself would love to go back to school and take a masters or probably another course that is more on creatives. I just wished that school was as affordable as before. But times have indeed changed. If it’s finances for me, it is time management for some. Though they would love to enroll, squeezing it to their schedule is a little difficult with the work and family to juggle it with. However, one could always sign-up for an online degree and “go schooling” whenever it’s convenient.

3 Lady Idols In Danger

March 11, 2010

American Idol Season 9 contestants Katie Stevens, Paige Miles and Katelyn Epperly are in danger of not making it into this season’s top 12. All four judges are not that impressed with their performances.

Katie Stevens sang “Breakaway” and judge Randy Jackson thought it sounded close to karaoke. Kara DioGuardi thought Stevens is yet to find the kind of artist she wants to be.

19-year-old Katelyn Epperly’s rendition of “I Feel the Earth Move” didn’t impressed DioGuardi either. The lad judge thought that Epperly was just “going through the motions”. Judge Simon Cowell likened her performance to request night at a restaurant.

Paige Miles sang “Smile”. Randy thought that the song was too big for the Houston-based contestant. The way Miles interpreted the song can serve like sleep-pills. Judge Ellen Degeneres said instead of being inspired, she felt sad.

Now who among three will say goodbye to their Idol dream or does America has someone else other than these three in mind?

Fight Acne With Oatmeal and Honey

March 8, 2010

I have previously shared some remedies to fight acne and it wouldn’t hurt to share another home remedy – oatmeal and honey. Here’s how:

1. Prepare a single serving of “plain” oatmeal as you normally do when eating.
2. Add 1/4 cup of honey and make sure to mix it well with the oatmeal.
3. Let it cool for a few minutes.
4. Apply evenly to your face.
5. Leave it for 10-20 minutes before rinsing it out.

Those two ingredients are good home remedies acne treatment as oatmeals absorbs oil and exfoliates the skin while honey acts as a skin toner.

No Need for a Cable TV

March 5, 2010

I am no TV guy. I rarely watch the tube except when occasionally watching the news. Though there are several television series that I love to follow, I would rather download the latest episodes than catching them on their time slots. Spoilers on the internet does not bother me as I have the liberty of not reading them. What hassles me is the need to watch the time just to catch those programs in their time slots.

That is why I don’t bother subscribing for a cable provider. Though there are times that I just want to sit down the couch and catch whatever is on HBO or anything on bell tv, but I am able to content myself in tuning in on local channels.

The Gems of Thailand

March 5, 2010

One of the main attractions of Thailand is not just the temples, beaches, and street foods it has to offer. Jewelry is also very affordable. A tour guide in one of the big stores in Pattaya explains that the soil in Thailand is soft making it more conducive for mining for gemstones which seems Thailand is well-gifted with.

My aunt was so delighted with the price that when we recently visited Bangkok, she bought several Jade pendants, some earrings, and loose pearls. I guess that if she also saw some loose diamonds she’ll be immediately swept off of her feet. There also some gem stones that I didn’t knew existed until then. I was surprised to learn that sapphire has other colors to offer aside from blue.

Surely, Bangkok will be a delight to people who loves gem stones.

Ask a Professional for Treatments

March 5, 2010

Acne is one tricky problem of growing up and having people constantly noticing it makes it even worse. Too bad that the exact cause of acne is trickier in itself. Some blames it on genes and hormones, while some says it is with the things you eat. There are even alternative practitioners who says that it has something to do with the toxicity in ones liver or intestines.

Due to wide and varied reasons, I suggest that it is best to visit a dermatologist should you want to take serious actions about it. Do not just try anything you encounter on the internet. You can always click here to learn more then consult your doctor.

At the very least, always maintain a good hygiene especially in caring for your face.

Point-of-Sale Systems

March 4, 2010

One of the most important innovation in the retail industry is probably the Point-of-Sale (POS) System. It can do more than the usual cash register as POS not only keeps track of sales but also your inventory. It can also print informative invoices and receipts that can help you out in making decisions and can also handle credit and debit card payments.

There are three POS systems that are being used. If you are involved in a large retail store, it is best to grab a Controller-based POS System where all computer terminals are connected to a single computer that can handle all information and transactions.
