It is important that a person engages himself with one or two physical activities regularly especially to those who spent most of their working hours sitting in front of a computer in an air conditioned office. Walking is a cost effective activity that requires very few “devices”. The most important thing you need here is a comfortable shoe and your good to go.

For those who have a few dollars to spend, biking is another possible activity that takes you places. Step down from stationary bikes and see places on your very own bike. If you have an suv bike rack, you could even go to another state then hop on to your bike and do some exploration.

The world is a big place that is truly worth seeing.

Last Valentine’s Day we traveled to Clark for the 14th Hot Air Balloon Festival. With only an hour of sleep, we hit the road at 2AM and arrived around 4:45AM. We originally planned to stay until the balloons’ fly-in but the circumstance didn’t permit as one child who were with us got sick. So we head back to Manila at 4PM.

It was a long and tiring day. Sad to say, the venue was not that convenient for anyone who plans of staying throughout the day to see the activities unless you come very well equipped (i.e. you brought your own chair, shade, and washroom with water). Otherwise, spend the rest of the afternoon in SM Clark. Even Kellogg’s tiger was feeling uncomfortable…

If we had to do this all over again next year, we plan to go to Clark after lunch in time for the fly-in, check-in for an overnight stay in a hotel, see the balloon flight the next morning and be back in Manila by lunch time. That would make the whole experience, 100% fun-filled!

We embarked on what we tagged to be as our “Great Ilocos Trip” last December 25 to 29. Together with two of my friends we left Manila 11:00pm of the 25th and returned 6:30am of the 29th covering 1,364 kilometers on board a Honda City. We were on the road for 15 hours crossing seven provinces twice consuming approximately two and half tank of gasoline. It was a long, but bearable drive. I’ll share some pictures on my next post.

If you are planning to go on a long trip with your car, make sure to have your engine and tires checked. It will cost you but it will save you the hassle of a possible engine failure. Be sure to have your car documents like ORCR and auto insurance just in case some unlikely incident happens. Lastly, consume things that will keep you stay awake while driving especially when travelling at night.
