Health Starts With Cleanliness

June 26, 2011

Any person who loves to cook not only wants good cooking tools and utensils but also a good stainless steel undermount sinks. Sinks are pretty much a part of the cooking and kitchen clearing process. You cannot separate it from the whole cooking thing.

The kitchen, sink included, should be well maintained. A clean food starts with a clean kitchen. Make every effort to prevent rusts, molds, and bacteria from accumulating in the area as this will definitely contaminate our food. That is why it is best to pick high quality items for use in it. It is not about luxury but for of maintaining a healthy and clean environment.

Disabled Accessibilities

June 26, 2011

Though the Philippines have a Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, the implementation of it seems to be just for compliance’s sake and not really as a genuine concern for the welfare of the disabled persons. This seems to be especially true when it comes to accessibility of facilities.

Yes there are public restrooms and ramps in malls and restaurants for their use but what is really funny is that the streets, which is owned by the government who enacted the law, is without the said ramps. I have seen some sidewalks with such feature but they are not entirely accessible all throughout the path.

Resorts should also provide swimming pool lifts. Sadly, I have yet to see such facility in any resorts I have been to. It seems that we have a long way to go as far as this law is concerned.

Welcome Sunshine

June 26, 2011

After days of rains and floods, the sun shines today… hopefully, the whole day. However, we are still trapped in Bulacan as flood in the subdivision’s entrance is still knee-deep. Yes, that is the only way in and out of this area. Bummer.

What have we been doing these past three days? Nightly videoke sessions and series marathon of The Legend of the Seeker. I’m also playing mmorpg every now and then. Hopefully by tomorrow the street will be passable and will be able to get out of this place.

No worries though, I’m enjoying my time here. ^^

Develop Your Language Mastery

June 23, 2011

It is said that ” sticks and stones may break my bones but words will not hurt me”. However, in most cases, this saying is not entirely true. The Bible even likened our tongue to a a small spark that can set fire a great forest. It is therefore important that we choose our words wisely.

In our age of technology, having alanguage master franklin can be proven helpful especially for those struggling to find the right words to say. It can be used to further widen our vocabulary and be a master of words. Hopefully as this skill is developed, we can easily filter words that can potentially harm people.

Monitoring Radars

June 23, 2011

Radars are essential in order to monitor parameters that are essential in maintaining control and safety. Though sometimes, like in the case when your driving in a highway, we become unconscious that we are already driving past the speed limit. Admit it. It happens.

Owning a whistler radar detector can be helpful in such case. It reminds us that there are devices near us that are set to monitor our performance. We are then made aware and easily adjust to the recommended limit.

It will not only help us prevent making violations but will also result to a safer environment for all.

Detoxifying Your Home

June 23, 2011

The recurring call to go greener only proves one thing, we are now living in an environment that is less natural. Even our homes are packed with harmful and toxic materials that we fail to notice. Such case is most alarming especially if there are children in our household. Kids have no knowledge on harmful things and everything is simply worth “tasting”.

Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) recently released five recommendations that can help lessen household hazards:

1. Dust and vacuum regularly.
Dust is a main hazard for children and adults. It is best to wet mop or vacuum the floors twice a week. Dusting should also be done on fixtures, cabinets, and other items.

2. Use nontoxic cleaners.
Choose baking soda and vinegar mixed with water as cleaners over the toxic cleaners.

3. Renovate right.
Dusts and fumes from paints can be hazardous to children and pregnant women. Better seclude the area being renovated with plastic sheets and duct tapes.

4. Chose your plastics wisely.
Though labeled “microwave-safe” harmful chemicals from plastic can contaminate your food. It is best to use glasses or ceramics for food storage.

5. Minimize mercury.
There are fishes known to contain low mercury as compared to others: Atlantic mackerel, herring, rainbow trout, wild or canned salmon, and tilapia.
