Gender Compatible Diet Pills

October 27, 2010

With the empowerment of women, advocates often declare that there are nothing that men can do that women can’t. Jobs that were originally manned by men can now be occupied by women. To their credit, sometimes they manage to do better.

However, no matter how much advocates want to do away with the labels, there are things meant only for men and one of them is with diet pills. Women are advised to take a pill that is designed specifically for them since the two genders’ body is completely different. So the “experts” say.

But aside from the gender compatibility, the most pressing fact that we need to learn more is whether the product could actually deliver the results it promises.

Treatment Oil

October 27, 2010

Tea tree oil should not be confused with tea oils. The former is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia while the latter is from Camellia sinensis or the tea oil plant Camellia oleifera.

Tea tree oil has been proven to possess beneficial medical properties as an antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral when used topically. Therefore, it should not be added to food as this can be toxic.

Some tea tree oil uses includes the following: as treatment against bacteria, viruses, and head lice. It can also be used for treatment of moderate acne. Despite the said examples, we suggest that you consult with a specialist first and do not self medicate.

Knowing Your BMI

October 27, 2010

Part of the key indicators to know if a person is healthy is computing for his Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is used to estimate helathy body weight in relation to a person’s height and declares if a person is underweight, normal, overweight, or obese based on a given scale.

People who wants to know how to lose weight fast must first know what their ideal BMI is so they would know how much kilos they need to lose or if they do need to lose anymore weight.

BMI is calculated as the quotient of weight in kg and the square of height in meters. Result then falls under remarks below:

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
* Overweight = 25–29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Coupon Fever

October 27, 2010

One thing I envy about the American market is how generously coupons are used. I once saw on the television how a lady even keeps an album where she keep discount coupons and files in according to its expiration date.

I wish we also have those here in the Philippines. A 10% to 20% less in goods will definitely be of great help to consumers especially now that the holidays is fast approaching. Slashing off 200pesos from a wwek’s supply of groceries can be added to the kids’ allowance. If cash discounts are not possible, a free items will also be appreciated.

Shoe Wonder

October 27, 2010

How many pair of shoes do you have? Though I know of some men who are so into with shoes, women seems to be more fascinated with it. That is quite understandable since they need a pair to go with the dresses they own. Unlike with men where a good black pair will acceptably goes with any outfit, women needs to match it with their dresses. A pair of several steve madden shoes can be mixed-and-matched with their wardrobe. What surprises me is how shoe makers manage to keep the prices low amidst the high demands of their product.

Changing For The Better

October 27, 2010

All people naturally desires to have good health. But such desire dies naturally we equate health with workouts and diets. Such actions do require a strong will and tons of sweat but there are also small changes that we can make to improve our health.

1. Flossing. Plaques form on hard to reach areas on our teeth. Such bacteria eats away the bone that holds the teeth in place and can enter our bloodstream.

2. Eat every 2 to 3 hours. Less meals doesn’t translate to less weight. In fact, the more we deprive ourselves of food, the greater is the tendency for us to do binge eating. Eat often throughout the day but with lesser portions.

3. Lessen your trip to coffee shops. Make your own coffee at home. With this, you need not fall to the temptation of ordering for a doughnut and loaves.

4. Carry a pedometer. Being aware on how much you move each day can motivate you to move more.

5. Sleep with your workout clothes. Some find it a bit of a hassle to prepare for a jog in the early morning. So prepare in the evening before.

Do Not Dread Calorie Drinks

October 22, 2010

People on a quest to cut off their calorie intakes can share with my difficulty in letting go of drinks packed with calories. I am personally finding it hard to give up dessert coffees. There is this frappuccino that I love but a serving of it is ringing with almost 500 calories! So how can we mange to still enjoy our drinks without back-slashing on thermogenic fat burners? Here are a few tips that might help.

1. Drink calorie beverages in the morning. You still have a whole day of activities to burn them all away.
2. Go for 100% fruit juices and veer away from those containing extra sugar.
3. If on a drinking session, make sure to drink water in between rounds. You consume fewer calories without missing out the fun.
4. Drink a lot of water throughout the day.

Bread for Life

October 21, 2010

I may be wrong but I am beginning to notice that the population is starting to be health conscious lately. Stores offering healthy meals and zero of this and that are on the rise. If so, this is good.

It is important that we watch what we are eating not only to look good but primarily to be healthy. The saying “Health is Wealth” is definitely unquestionably true. Aside from taking diet pills that really work, it is also best if we be aware of the breads we are buying in the market. I read an article that shares three ways to find the most healthy bread and I want to share them with you:

1. Choose breads made from whole grains like wheat, oats, and rye; over those made from refined grains. Whole grains contains antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

2. Stay away from bread with high amount of added sugars.

3. Choose those that do not contain soybean oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, safflower oil and sunflower oil. They rival with omega-3 fats which our heart and brain needs.

Sky Is Hell

October 21, 2010

Typhoon Juan has left the Philippine area of responsibility and sad to say, I am clueless on the extent of damage the typhoon brought our country. Why? Because we were left without cable signal from Sunday to Wednesday. Those were the times the typhoon’s effect were at it’s peek.

Yes, it took them that long to restore service. Worst part is, they only managed to restore the television signal and up to now we are left without a broadband internet that is bundled with the service. Don’t you just hate service providers like this?

I intend to dedicate a post exclusively for this once we get our internet up. I am currently using a prepaid wifi. Just so you wait Sky Cable. Just so you wait…

Flashing Data

October 17, 2010

I can still remember the day when I started using the computer. We usually carry with us large cases where we store those big 5.25″ floppy disks for booting and saving data. The case usually carries 10 diskettes in all. We were then relieved when the 3.25″ became available on the market. It was more sturdy, a lot smaller, and has a bigger capacity.

I bet kids today will find it hilarious that portable saving devices ever started in such disks. Today is the age of USB flash drives and external hard drive whose capacity can range from mega to terabytes! Imagine the amount of data you can squeeze into it. It’s like having a football stadium for a garage.

It amazes me what will happen to data storage five years from now. One thing is for sure, it will definitely be good.
