Of Cameras and Bags

April 30, 2010

I recently attended a good friend’s son’s dedication. I had the privilege of being one Wookie’s god-father. During the recital of our wishes for the kid, a fellow god-father wished that the little boy may have, like his dad, a “photographer’s eye” in order to appreciate the beauty that God has created. That was the only wish that little Wookie’s mom wasn’t so happy about. Haha.

Indeed, having photography as a hobby is really expensive. It seems that wanting for photography related things never ends. There will always be a new lens, a new body, a new flash, and the list goes on. But hey, this doesn’t mean that men are the only one who are in to expensive things. Some members of the opposite sex have a more expensive fetish – designer bags.

Yes, while my male friends talk about cameras; their wives talk about bags. Bags that cost from hundred-thousands to a million in prices. Starting from rebecca minkoff, to Louis Vuitton, to Hermes; they have discussed about it. Their husbands should be thankful that their spouses are budget conscious. If they were not the one’s handling the family’s finances, there might be no finance to budget.

Getting a Back-up Service

April 30, 2010

One of my blogs encountered a problem recently. I could not browse through the dashboard after logging in. I tried deleting some plug-ins but to no avail. Thank goodness that I managed to keep a copy of the necessary backups. Otherwise, I’ll be beating against time copying my post from Google’s cache.

It is always wise to have a copy of your important files handy. You can never tell when an unfortunate event might happen. There are online backup services that will ensure that your website files are always backed up. If you have a number of posts that you hate seeing become lost in oblivion, I guess paying for a dependable service will be worth it.

Gwyneth Paltrow Packs the Pounds

April 27, 2010

Immediately after playing Pepper Potts in Iron Man 2, Gwyneth Paltrow packed up the pounds on purpose. This is in preparation for a film where she’ll be playing the role of a musician. Her boss said she needed to have a fuller figure on “Love Don’t Let Me Down.” Gwyneth confesses that she have gained 10 pounds!

To attain her goal, she had to indulge herself a little more but also encountered difficulty since her heavy work schedule is just setting the pounds off. Shedding off the pounds was definitely harder. She had to go on a diet and do exercises with the help of some DVDs from her trainer.

For people who finds diet and exercises a little difficult, herbal slimming pills might help you get started but make sure to consult your doctor first.

The Quest Continues

April 27, 2010

This year, I made recording a 60-kilo weight as one of my goals. We are already half-way through the year and it seems getting past the 70 mark have already become difficult. I am starting to think that this is already my saturation point but it is 10 kilos more than my target! So I refuse to accept that it is so.

I have to admit that I have become too lax on my diet lately. I have often compromised my abstinence from rice and soft drinks every now and then. It’s just too hard to stop consuming these two when they have become a staple product in the Philippines.

I just read a review on nuphedragen and though the promised results seems enticing, it is wise to consult my physician first if ever I’ll choose to go such path.

Of Lifestyle and Acne

April 27, 2010

It appears that not only are the teenagers the one in need of good acne products. People up to the age of 40 also encounters acne problem.

Hormonal change as one enters puberty is the most common reason of acne for teens but causes for older people can range from pregnancy, cosmetics, and stress. To prevent outbreaks, it is necessary that one finds the right combination of medicated soap and acne-reducing creams that is suited for your type of skin. You’ll have a better of chance at it if you consult your dermatologist.

Also, be prepared to make some lifestyle change in your quest to rid yourself of acne. Living healthy will always be beneficial.

Learn to Love Your Job

April 27, 2010

Blessed are those who love their jobs for they are getting paid for doing things they love. Have you ever wondered how many people are granted such blessing? If you are one of them, most people would envy you. There are several reasons why people gets “stuck” in their job but I guess all of them feels the same – hell.

However, there are far worst situations than this and one of them is losing your job. With the current unemployment rate in the country, I advise that you seek out the silver lining behind your cloud. If you have the liberty, Yahoo’s Shine have published 5 Ways to Make Work Better. Check it out and I hope it does the trick.

Missing Chuck

April 20, 2010

I am so hooked with Chuck. Hearing that the final episode of the series is scheduled to be aired by last week of May brought a sadness in my heart. Yes, the series may have contained some impossibilities but one thing I cannot deny is it’s ability to entertain me. I am even wondering how the man managed to survive for years with all the dangerous missions he was in to despite not being formally trained as a spy.

Other notable characters are, of course, Sarah Walker. A “cool” secret agent who fell for the nerdy hero. Kacey’s grunts never fails to amuse me. How could someone convey such disgust with a simple gnarl! He also seems to have this thing with tobaccos. I wonder if he likes macanudo cigars

Chuck will not also be complete without best bud Morgan, Big Mike, Jeff and Lester, Devin, Ellie, and the General. I hate to see them go but I am grateful for three entertaining seasons. Awesome!

Hiring A Coordinator

April 17, 2010

The day one says “I do,” is a day full of excitement, love, and pressure. The couple, particularly the bride wants everything to be perfect for this event. After all, this is the day one journeys through life with a companion. To relieve the couple from the stress of such occasion, it is most advisable to hire an event coordinator to handle everything from the dispatching of the wedding invitations down to the handling out of giveaways. This day should be remembered for the happy memories of love and not for its pressures.

For The Sake of Entertainment

April 16, 2010

I wish I have the means to purchase a good television set today. I plan to place it at my mom’s room so that she no longer need to stay late downstairs watching her favorite shows. She could rest early on her bed while enjoying her TV shows.

I have been scouting for an affordable unit at entertainment centers but none currently match my budget. With the high cost of electricity, I think this plan should temporarily take a back seat.

Alternatively, I could just install in her room our current unit in the common area since nobody is watching on it. I think that is a plan worth considering…
