Preparing For Emergencies
January 18, 2010
We recently performed a major house cleaning since we have two balikbayans arriving. It is good to know the 5S concept of the Japanese as it greatly helps in judging what to dispose. Because of this activity, I realized that our home lacks some necessary things: first aid kits and a fire extinguisher.
With the recent 7.0 intensity earthquake that hit Haiti and one that happened locally in Mindanao and Southern Luzon, it is a must to have these items inside the house. If someone in the family have a heart condition it is also best to have an AED handy. Do not forget to have flashlights and whistles accessible.
With news of calamities left and right, it is sad to be caught unprepared.

Sawasdee Bangkok
January 11, 2010
We will be off to Bangkok tomorrow. This is one of the cities I have long wanted to visit. Though we will be staying for only a short time, I plan to make the most out of it. I plan of feasting in Bangkok street foods and visit as many cultural and religious places as I can. I plan of seeing Bangkok from the 88th floor observation view deck of the tallest building in the city – Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Though I am not sure to find a Elie Tahari clothing line, I do hope to find some best buy items at Chatuchak or any of the night bazaars in the area. Lastly, I plan to take lots and lots of photos.
New Year, New Start

The new year is the time where people decides to make significant changes in their lives. The most common resolution is probably taking the way to wellness. People starts eating right and enrolling in the gym. Some makes it a point to start a new career or to find that greener pasture. Very few probably decides to make a cross country moving to start a brand new life elsewhere.
No matter what your objective is for 2010, as long as it results to a better you, pursue it.
Value Your Safety Nets
January 5, 2010
You’ll never appreciate the value of car insurances until you met an accident.
Most car owners are a little half-hearted paying for their car insurance especially if their car is acquired via car loans. For one, it only appears as an additional expense aside from their monthly car bill dues and regular gas expenses. But insurances is your safety net to far more bigger expenses should you encounter road accidents.
Yesterday, we asked for a repair estimate for a car whose right part of the rear was damaged due to a collision with another vehicle. The repair alone for the car totals 55,000 pesos aside from the damages to the other vehicle. Imagine spending such amount on an unexpected time? It is more than enough to spin you out of your budget’s orbit.
So make sure that you always pay for your insurances even your rv insurance, this will save you from much headache during accidents.
Tour Packages
January 4, 2010
Next week I’ll be off to Bangkok. This will be my first out of the country vacation. Being the one in charge of booking the flight to arranging for our accommodation, I found such task not an easy one. If I’ll be given such task again, I’ll probably find an all inclusive vacations travel agency. It might be more pricey but it will surely relieve you from the worries of planning and the risk of missing out on certain details.
Contacting a travel agency offering tour packages is the way to go. All you need to do is choose the date of travel and pay the corresponding amount and you have already arranged your plane tickets, accommodations, tour guides, and local transportation. Making your trip fun filled and hassle free.
Regular Yearly Check Up
January 4, 2010
I very much appreciate the profession of being a doctor but I am still not that keen in visiting one. Most Filipino families could probably feel the same way as most of us sees visiting a doctor as a last resort. I know that this practice is not the way to go. Everyone, if they can, should have a regular yearly check up. Diseases are best detected this way and can be easily treated if discovered at an early stage. This gives a person a better chance of recovering and returning to their normal activity.
So never be afraid of sitting down on an exam table because the more often you sit on one, the better you become.
Is Your Home A Feast to the Eye?
January 3, 2010
We Filipinos are so fond of hanging a lot of items to our walls. We could easily spot a diploma and a family picture more than a painting. We love to place things we value for our visitors to see. We also like stuffing our homes with furniture. A corner does not often go bare. We would want to place a corner or side table just to fill in the gaps. Electric fans might be neglected as far as floor and wall area is concerned and so they often resort to air conditioner or ceiling fans. Making our home a feast for the eye.

With a financial situation like we now have, you can’t afford to have such expenses. But money can be earned but what if it cost us our lives? It is hard to cope up when you lose a loved one but what is even harder is when you are a dependent and that you are left with nothing.
