Back To The 70
December 11, 2009
I have started my quest to bring my weight down to 70kilos a month a go and though progress is a little slow, I could say that I am happy with it. I really haven’t done a drastic action so the rate I am going is already acceptable.
Though sometimes, the bulk of things I have to do forces me to do extra work during the night, I can say that such rare instances doesn’t result to dark eye circle. I jog once a week in the morning. Hopefully next week, I can do it twice a week.
I think everyone should make an active effort to maintain a healthy life. We are so in to our work at times that we tend to sacrifice our well being for it which I think is impractical. We work to live and that is the way it should be.
Christmas List
December 11, 2009
Two more weeks left and I still haven’t done any Christmas gift shopping. We Filipinos are so in to Christmas that inspite of the recent calamities we have experienced, we still make it a point to share during this season. Gifts need not be expensive. The simple thought of being remembered is enough to warm anyone’s heart on this chilly season.
A little word of advice, no matter how many your godchildren are, which we are “obligated” to give presents, do not forget to give a little something for our moms who have gone beyond expected for us. Every gifts for her will be surely appreciated.
16 Days To Go
December 9, 2009
We are counting down the days before Christmas and with it, budgeting our finances. This is the season where one probably receives much finances from work but where expenses bloats up as well. But for most people, they don’t mind. Seeing the happy smiles from children’s faces and enjoying a happy family gathering are more rewarding than any amount of money.
However, may I advise you to keep a reasonable amount for yourself so that after the festivities, you still have some amount to treat yourself for all the year’s hard work. You can go shopping or spend time at the outer banks vacation rentals or simply go to the nearest bed and breakfast to enjoy a quite moment with yourself.
Feed Your Mind
December 7, 2009
In my quest to come up with a good Chinese name, I have made my very first book purchase online! Well, I wasn’t the one who actually placed the order for it. I asked a friend living in San Francisco who returned to the Philippines for a vacation last month to purchase it on my behalf. Since books, whether new or not, contains the same informations; I opted to buy a used copy for less than $5. I was surprised that the book was still unused when I received it. In fact, it is still wrapped in plastic.
It was a pleasant book purchase experience that might cause me to purchase more Amazon books in the future. We need to continually feed our mind you know.
Of Laptops and Desktops
December 6, 2009
Though I have always wanted a laptop computer ever since I saw the film “Hackers” in the 90s, I do not see myself exchanging my desktop for it. There are certain tasks that is done more with ease when performed using desktop computers.
For me, laptops are just a supplement to have online access when I go mobile. It comes handy during long travels and you have to meet some deadline for an article or when doing live blogging. However, desktops bring a certain security to me. Whenever I have to perform some serious computer activities, hands down, I’ll go for a desktop.
