I read the other day that economic experts in the United States think that worst part of the economic crisis is over and we are on our way to see better things in a year’s time. However, the worst ripple seems to be just arriving in South East Asia.
I do pray that the economy will pick up soon as there are a lot of families who are barely managing through the crisis. Hopefully, the automotive, manufacturing, real estate, banking, and moving companies San Francisco industry will experience the grandeur they once enjoy.
I am still recovering from flu. I had a fever last Wednesday afternoon and decided to consult a doctor Friday afternoon when my temperature readings were not showing any improvement at all. I was not swabbed with A(H1N1) but the doctor decided to prescribe me with Tamiflu. It was funny because he was asking me if I want to take the medicine and keeps asking me to not be scared since they have been prescribing the said medicine long before the pandemonium started. It seems that the medicine have caused paranoia to some people.
I find the medications he gave me to be effective because it only took overnight for my temperature to go down below 27 degrees. I’m glad I went to the doctor on that day because as I learned, Tamiflu has a 48 hour effectivity window from the first flu symptom. By the way, I lost 3 kilos without the help of Apidexin. Haha!
I have seriously considered getting a piercing way back in high school. However, being a teen who belongs in a conservative family and attending a conservative Christian church, men with earrings will surely raise some eyebrows. They are mostly considered rebellious act rather than a form of self expression back then. I even remember a classmate trying to hide his pierced ear from the watchful eye of our class adviser.
Fifteen years after, I could say that society have now become more tolerant and non-critical of men with earrings. Of course, there are still some sectors especially in the corporate world that considers it inappropriate. I guess we cannot expect a total acceptance in that short time.
How do you view men with earrings? Is there such a thing as “too old” for piercings? Sound off.
Ang lahat ng ating mga pangarap ay nagsisimula sa ating kabataan. Tanungin mo ang isang bata kung ano ang nais niyang maging sa kanyang paglaki at ito ay daglian niyang masasagot. Bakit? Dahil hindi mahalaga sa kanila ang mga bagay tulad ng sahod, career growth, at benefits. Ang tanging batayan nila sa pagpili ay kung ano ang masaya nilang magagawa.

What does your little girls dream to be when she grows up? I am not quite sure if their ambition springs from the toys we provide them or the other way around. I guess both are possible.
Often, we see these little girls wearing a white lab gown, carrying a plastic stethoscope, and acting as if their doll is a sick patient consulting them for a cure. Rarely do we see them riding a toy pony overcoming every hurdles as if in a horse race. Probably because equestrian apparel for the kids to play are not that commonly available as compared to doctor play sets.
But have you noticed that despite the diversity of toys these little girls can play, they keep coming back to the basic? Dolls and kitchen play sets. Probably because more than admiring that friendly pediatrician or idolizing that graceful equestrian, these little girls wants to be more like mom.
Kids of my generation almost all dreamt of one common vacation travel – Disneyland. Sadly, not many of us then have the means to go to the United States to visit the theme park. Though we now have Disney as near as Hongkong, I personally think that Orlando vacations may still be more enjoyable since you can also do a quick stop at Universal Studios. That’s a two for one trip.
Though my generation may probably have outgrown the wonder of these theme parks and may probably prefer locations like the beach, a rustic tour, or an architectural feast, it is good to know that Mickey is just a short flight away.
