Litratong Pinoy: Asul
January 15, 2009

Isa ito sa 20 windmills na makikita ninyo sa Bangui Bay sa Ilocos Norte. Isang modern structure installed in a natural setting. Isa sa mga nagustuhan ko sa Ilocos ay ang asul na kalangitan. Bughaw kung bughaw. Matingkad.
Ito ang aking lahok sa Linggo ng Asul ng Litratong Pinoy.
Maintain A Safe Weight Loss Program
January 12, 2009
January is that time of the year when gym memberships sky rockets. It seems a lot of people resolves to be more physically fit at the start of the year. Sadly, only a few manages to see this goal through.
The best way to lose weight is to create what experts call “negative balance” – burn more calories than you consume. Create a healthy diet and increase your physical activity. Be careful however, not to shock your system by going into extremes. This will give undesirable results.
Experts suggests that the best way to synchronize your diet and cardio is to do one first. Follow first a diet if you prefer to lessen food intakes. If you cannot give up on food, add some cardio instead. Monitor first your progress on a single activity and as your weight loss slows down, you can then add cardio or go on a diet.
Have a happy and safe work out!

Responding to God’s Grace
January 11, 2009
Then I said,
“Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” (Isaiah 6:5)
The more we understand the contrast between God’s holiness and our sinfulness, the clearer the magnitude and depth of His grace will become. This knowledge will cause us to turn to Him in . . .
Confession of our sins. The prophet Isaiah, upon seeing God’s holiness, clearly grasped his own uncleanness. In a similar way, recognizing the Lord’s perfection will lead us to realize our own unrighteousness. We may think we’re doing okay until it becomes clear that God’s standard for us is to be holy—without sin. Only through faith in Christ can we meet that standard. The first step is admitting we are not the good person we thought ourselves to be. Rather, we are sinners in need of divine help. Confession is also to be a regular practice of all believers.
Litratong Pinoy: Pula
January 8, 2009

Tidying Things Up
January 7, 2009
Today, I started my first of a series of house cleaning activity – the area on top of the stairs (whatever you call that). It was a very small space but it took me the whole afternoon tidying it up. Aside from the fact that it was really crowded with boxes, I was surfing the net every once in a while.
My next missions will be cleaning up the aquarium, mom’s room, and then set up a new aquarium. I’m saving my space for last. ^_^ General cleaning makes me miss my manufacturing job where we have an abundant supply of materials readily available upon request to the person in charge for material handling.
Anyway, I want to accomplish all these before the Chinese new year on the 26th. Wish me luck!
Post Holiday Shopping
January 7, 2009
I visited a mall last weekend and saw what better time to buy Christmas decors but after Christmas! While some stores have decided to take down their holiday items from the shelves, most stores have decided to put them on sale! Items like greeting cards, gift tags, and decorations are now sold at a cheaper price.
So if you still have money to spare and have been wanting a new set of Christmas decorations for your home, better do a post holiday shopping in preparation for December. It never is too early to prepare especially if it means a better value for your money.
Don’t you just wish that it’s Christmas again.
TV For Mom
January 5, 2009
I was checking out for 12-inch televisions yesterday for my mom. I am considering getting one for her so she can watch her favorite prime time telenovelas at the comfort of her room. Since these programs are shown very late at night and with long commercials as well, I often find mom dozing off on the couch.
Priced at around 3,500 to 4,000 pesos, I am just not sure if it comes with a tv stand as most 20-plus-inchers do. Anyway, finding a place to mount a 12-inch set is not that hard as finding a good television. I’m still off to scout for more.

Long Drive, Fun Drive
January 2, 2009
We embarked on what we tagged to be as our “Great Ilocos Trip” last December 25 to 29. Together with two of my friends we left Manila 11:00pm of the 25th and returned 6:30am of the 29th covering 1,364 kilometers on board a Honda City. We were on the road for 15 hours crossing seven provinces twice consuming approximately two and half tank of gasoline. It was a long, but bearable drive. I’ll share some pictures on my next post.
If you are planning to go on a long trip with your car, make sure to have your engine and tires checked. It will cost you but it will save you the hassle of a possible engine failure. Be sure to have your car documents like ORCR and auto insurance just in case some unlikely incident happens. Lastly, consume things that will keep you stay awake while driving especially when travelling at night.
