Second Opinions

These days, you get to hear more people dying of cancer than heart attacks. A friend’s dad started experiencing stomach aches a few months back and decided to see the doctor. The good doctor found it not that serious and prescribed him with some medicines. However, the pain did not go away and so he decided to ask for a second opinion. The second opinion learned that its an early stage of cancer. After an operation to remove the infected part and a complete session of chemotherapy, my friend’s dad is doing okay but is still in regular checkups.

This incident taught me an important lesson. Always ask for a second opinion especially when things aren’t getting better after seeing a doctor. Do not gamble your life by being complacent.
