When Horse Shoe Won’t Work

Few months from now and the year is almost over. I can’t help but remember a friend of mine who’s worried since the year started. He believes that 2008 will not be as auspicious for him as last year. Born under the year of the Horse, He equipped himself with all feng shui horse supplements to cure all the 7 unlucky stars in store for him, like wearing a mythical pi xiu bracelet. For crying out loud, he even made an eight immortal desktop wallpaper for his laptop. Well, I guess, his horse supplements must have worked, his boss is considering to promote him… but that’s next year, on the year of the ox.

Litratong Pinoy: Ayaw Ko

Parked For Good?

Most guys have a dream car. However, with oil prices rising almost weekly, regular maintenance check-up, and auto parts replacement; owning a car might turn into a nightmare for average income earners.

So some decided to park their cars at home and take the public transport or go car-pooling instead. This I think is more practical as it lessens traffic congestion and pollution. If your workplace is not so far from your home, why not go walking or biking? This will also be a good cardio exercise for your body.

The Spirit of Wisdom

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2)

Throughout His ministry, Jesus relied upon the Holy Spirit to direct Him as He made crucial decisions and faced relentless opposition (Mark 1:12). Centuries earlier, Isaiah had described what the Spirit’s presence would mean for the Savior. The Spirit would give Jesus the knowledge of the will and ways of the Father. As a young boy, Jesus already possessed unusual knowledge of God’s word (Luke 2:47). The Spirit granted Him the wisdom to use this knowledge. The Spirit enabled Jesus to take the word of God and apply it effectively to the specific needs of those He encountered.

Stroll With Your Baby

With Marlyn about to enter her third trimester of pregnancy, I know that the couple is already excited preparing for their first baby. This includes acquiring cribs, clothing, and feeding bottles among many others. I’m thinking of giving them a stroller as a present.

I saw the strollers made by Orbit Baby and I think that the orbit infant travel system is a feature to be welcomed. This is especially engineered to enable you to dock the seat to the SmartHub at any angle that is comfortable to you then rotating it to face the direction you desired. By addressing your baby’s comfort and also your convenience, this strollers not only babies the baby but also the parents as well.

No Golf At The Olympics

To date, more than 500 medals have been given away at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for events like swimming, tennis, rowing, kayak, and archery among others. However, the Olympics have yet to give out medals for golf since 1904.

It has been a century since golf was included as an official sport in the Olympics and with the wide popularity of the sport, people can’t help but ask, “Why?”.

Some speculates that it is because golf have already enough international tournament and that golf superstars would rather covet a green jacket or a claret jug than an olympic medal. This is bad for the Olympic networks and sponsors. Others think that building an Olympic-level facility for an event that is appealing only to westerns is not worth the expense.

Let’s look at the bright side. Golf fans can temporarily take a break from the sport and enjoy any of the 32 Olympic events until the organizers decide to take out the golf shoes out of the box.

May God Rule in Our Midst

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

In heaven, God’s will is the only priority. A word from God brings angels to do His bidding, immediately and without question. Jesus instructed us to pray that God would accomplish His will in our world in the same way. This means that God’s purposes would be preeminent in our homes, our businesses, our schools, our churches, and our governments.

Check Before You Trade

Basically, people perform trades everyday. We trade our skills for money and trade money for goods. We become unmindful of this fact because we are so used to such system. However, we need to be more careful when doing futures trading or when trading items especially over the internet. If possible, check all the provisions and actual goods to see if they are in the appropriate condition. It never hurt to take extra care especially these days were some take advantage of trusting people.
