July 24, 2008

Tips For A Post Summer Vacation

July 22, 2008

Though July is considered a rainy season in the Philippines, temperature remains 32C until a tropical storm arrives. The climate can still be considered as good as summer and some might think it is not yet too late to take out and use their swimsuits.

However, if you are planning to take a post summer vacation be sure to check the weather forecast for any signs of incoming storms. You do not want to be stranded off an island for two days with your resources running out. Worst, suffer a tragedy like that of the MV Princess of the Stars.

Make sure to carry extra cash, keep your cellphones fully charged, and bring a good amount of reason and logic to decide your course of action. Do not entrust your life in the decision of others.

Travel Light, Travel Bright

July 22, 2008

Whether going for a vacation or business purpose, traveling comes with both excitement and worries with it. I feel excited because I get to see a different place and a new culture. It’s an opportunity to learn and experience a whole new world other than my usual environment.

On the other hand, there is this worry that what if something happen to me while I’m away from home. If I get sick or had an accident for example, will I be able to take care of my medical expenses? Say war or terrorism or any uneventful circumstance takes my life, will my body be returned home to my family? Scary thoughts indeed but with how fleeting life is, it never hurt to get yourself a travel insurance.

There are a variety of policies available in market so be sure to read and determine the one that addresses your utmost concern.

Be Pimple Free

July 21, 2008

Pimple is a natural horror especially for teenagers. It seems that it knows the best time to come out to ruin one’s day. It is said that the best way to prevent it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle: eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water, and get enough sleep at night.

If still not effective, here are some homemade remedy I found over the internet:

Rub a crushed garlic cloves on the area of your skin where a pimple pops up. The garlic will reduce swelling as well as cure the pimple.

Another homemade recipe is by mixing one teaspoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Apply this mixture and watch those pimples shrink!

I haven’t tried these homemade remedies yet. If you are therefore skeptical with it, better go to the nearest drugstore and ask for a pimple cream.

God’s Initiatives

July 20, 2008

Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1)

The most dramatic changes in your life will come from God’s initiative, not yours. The people God used mightily in Scripture were all ordinary people to whom He gave divine assignments that they never could have initiated. The Lord often took them by surprise for they were not seeking significant mandates from God. Even so, He saw their hearts, and He knew they were trustworthy.

Carry A Big Memory Stick

July 17, 2008

“I speak softly, but I carry a big stick!”

Portable memory storage has become popular these days that even non-tech savvy people carries them for “just in case” moments. I guess this popularity is also due to fact that a memory stick has become affordable these days. I bought my 256MB stick three years ago for the price of today’s 4GB.

It is indeed handy to carry a storage device especially in a digital era. You can conveniently carry important files and documents around ready for viewing /printing anytime. Plus, you can readily copy your friends’ interesting files stored in their laptops. Just be sure to ask their permission first.

Litratong Pinoy: Luntian

July 17, 2008

Dayana Mendoza Of Venezuela Is Miss Universe 2008

July 16, 2008

I didn’t bother to watch the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant as I expect to see nothing new from it. From what I read from other blogs online, I’d say I didn’t even missed a tenth of my life for not watching it.
For the fifth time, Venezuela managed to take home the Miss Universe title; Miss USA slipped for the second time (Is this another bad omen for their economy?); and Miss Philippines was confident to take home the crown for the nth time but failed. On the other hand, this was the first time we saw Miss Universe took her farewell walk without a gown.

I guess with the recent pageant, a lot of ladies around the world have again grown conscious of their own figure. If you were planning to take some diet medicines like Miracleburn, it is always wise to research about the product first.

Happy slimming down to you all!

Be A Blessing Today

July 13, 2008

The pig was unpopular while the cow was beloved and this puzzled the pig.

PIG: People speak warmly of your gentle nature and your sorrowful eyes. They think you’re generous because each day you give them milk and cream. But what about me? I give them everything I have. I give bacon, ham, etc. I give my ALL.

The cow replied, “It’s not really what you give when you’re dead, it’s about what you give while you’re still alive.”
