Litratong Pinoy: Dalampasigan

“Life is like the surf,
so give yourself away like the sea.”

Ito ang aking lahok na larawan sa Linggo ng Dalampasigan ng Litratong Pinoy na kinuhanan sa dalampasigan ng Coco Beach sa Puerto Galera noong taong 2006.

Plight Of My Flights

We were asked by my employer to get our passports five years ago. We were having a new product then and by fate, one of us had to go to Japan to assist in the phase-in. Sadly, now at the point of expiration, my passport didn’t even had the privilege of being stamped.

Hope rekindled when my sister said that she’ll be coming home this December and wants our family to spend Christmas in Hong Kong. But with the recent change in her plan means that the vacation will have to take the back seat for now.

I think I need to plan for my own travel. Hopefully next year, I have enough savings to see BKK. God willing.

Smart Move

I read from the news that in order to save on gasoline, some Americans are moving closer to their workplace. With this, they will no longer need to drive as work is just a walking distance away. Pretty clever huh!

A smart move I’d say. But a friendly reminder, be smart in transporting your valuables as well. Get a self storage service. You just might save your money on gas but lose a fortune on your stuffs.

Stick To Your Budget

Times are tough, earn hard! Better yet, spend wisely and learn to budget your earnings.

Unlike in the corporate scenario where a budget software is needed to balance out and forecast financial standings, handling our personal finances can be as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Be mindful. There are a lot of small expenses that we overlook but if accounted together will make a significant impact in our finances.

2. Make a budget. List down how much you get from all your sources of income. This will serve as a visual reminder of how much you are capable of spending. Make sure that you will not overspend for the duration of your next income.

3. Build accountability. It is hard to follow this through alone. Make this a family commitment or ask your friend to remind you whenever he thinks that you are spending on unessentials.

Lack Of PR Won’t Stop Me From Earning

The big G have just recently updated it’s rank system and I’m pretty sure that most bloggers have noticed the change in that tiny green bar of theirs.

I Set No Corner have again dropped to zero after enjoying PR2 for approximately two months. This will mean that opportunities for money making will decrease as well. However, unlike the first time it happened, I am not that affected with this second drop. Why? Because I’ve found a non-PR dependent way to earn online.

Roll The Dice

I once visited a government operated casino just to see how things were inside and I find their slot machines quite addictive. Thank God however, that I have enough self control to stop when I noticed that I’m already losing.

Some may find occasional gambling as a means of relaxation or entertainment. For home bodies like me who are also not accustomed to cigarette smokes and crowded areas, online casinos can be an alternative.

Online Casino Bluebook is a one stop guide for those new to online casinos. Visiting their site guides you to the leading casino sites to date comparing their welcome bonus, payout percentage, and some reviews of the site. Should you require more informations, you can also visit their forum and blog or send them an email to find your needed support.

Just a friendly reminder, be objective and learn when to quit.

Put Away Lying

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. (Ephesians 4:25)

Because you are a Christian, your life ought to be permeated with truth. When you were born again, God put the Spirit of truth in you (John 16:13). The Spirit’s role is to guide you into all truth. The Spirit wants to fill your mind with whatever is true (Phil. 4:8). If you allow the Spirit to fill you with God’s truth, you will be truthful in your actions and in your relationships. According to Jesus, this means that your yes will always be yes, and your no will always mean no (Matt. 5:33–37).

Art Film 101

Cinemalaya is in town again. I’m pretty sure that people who are into art film are really excited about it while art critiques will be as sharp as their pens. Here are some tips I’ve learned when watching art film:

Always have an open mind. Some genre may be intimidating, whether it’s a snobbish French film or a heart-warming Italian flick. Remember that watching film should be taken in a holistic perspective, from the script, cinematography, costume and set design, and the thespian skills of the characters.
