God Brings You to Himself

May 4, 2008

You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. (Exodus 19:4)

God did not deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt so that they could enjoy the Promised Land. He freed them from their so they could come to know and worship Him. Three months after they left Egypt, God reminded His people why He had delivered them “on eagles’ wings.” It was to bring the people to Himself. That is, God saved them so that they could enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. The Israelites had been slaves with no freedom to worship God. Now, with their own land, they could come to know and serve God freely. God’s call was not to destroy the idolatrous nations in Canaan, not to settle the lands they conquered, and not to establish a new nation, although all of these would be accomplished. Rather, God called them primarily to be a people who loved and worshiped Him. Through God’s act of deliverance they came to know Him as an almighty and compassionate God, and they were now free to respond_to Him.

Bye Bye Brooke White

May 3, 2008

If you are reading this post elsewhere
other than I Set No Corner, chances are, it is stolen.

Brooke White had her final stand on the American Idol stage last Wednesday as she became the 20th contestant voted off from Season 7. She singing I’m A Believer is a mismatch. Her vocals lack the strength and the fun that made that song a hit in the first place.

I guess after hearing Jason Castro week after week, you can’t help but wish that he’ll offer something other than his usuals. Sadly, he seemed to stick to what is most comfortable to him and I think I am about to cry, “enough already!”.

Do It Right This Time

May 1, 2008

A person’s trust is something that is hard to achieve yet very easily lost. At times, it only needs one single mistake on our part and we lose all our needed chance. Our word should be our bond. I guess this also applies in paying our dues as well.

I once heard a story of a credit card company who banned all applicants from a certain municipality because of bad experiences from their previous clients living in that area who fails to settle their credit. Our record of delinquencies might not only cause the disapproval of that much needed loan that we will be applying for in the future but will also affect other people that much needed financial help.

iFlash For Litratong Pinoy: Malungkot

May 1, 2008

Litratong Pinoy is a weekly tag open to Filipino-oriented photography people. Participants will be posting every Thursday a photograph which they own based on the week’s theme.

Failure can take away the spirit of anybody. However, may we not forget no matter how cliche it sounds, that behind every cloud is a silver lining. Be strong and steadfast. Failure is but a reminder that we are no perfect beings.

Restore Deleted Files

May 1, 2008

One of the basics I learned in my years of computer usage is that you cannot delete files in a removable disk and expect to restore it from the trash bin. It seems that these files are permanently removed and only those stored in the hard drive goes to the bin when deleted.

I guess one of the nightmares of computer dependents is loosing their important files. However, you can now Recover Deleted Files from any media type or operating system with the help of Flashback Data. Accidentally deleted files and crashed hard drives need not be a big scare.
