Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

May 27, 2008

I wasn’t able to post a song last Friday for two reasons: One, I had an internet connection problem and two, I have no idea what to play that will fit the theme selected for May. So I decided to give Thank God It’s Friday a two week break and resume playing in June.

To make it up with you, I wanted to share this song from an artist who didn’t want to go to drug rehab – Amy Winehouse.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Some people might think that Amy is wasting her life with all the controversies she is in to including the drug addiction. But as a friend of mine commented, let’s just appreciate her craft and let her do what she wants to do with her life.

The Agony of Prayer

May 25, 2008

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22:44)

Prayer is not difficult to understand. It is difficult to do. When was the last time your heart so grieved for those you were interceding for that your entire body agonized along with your mind and heart? (Heb. 5:7).

Build Your Own Customized PC

May 25, 2008

A few weeks ago, I decided to replace my first ever computer with a newer CPU with better specifications. I can’t imagine how affordable computer parts have become! You’ll even get more savings for customizing your PC since pre-assembled branded ones usually charge you for their names.

Customizing your PC is now even easier as packages are already available to be ordered online. Save as much as $1,000 and get brand new components with the brand of your choice. A clear and easy to follow DIY instruction will come with the kit. You’ll just need a screwdriver and you’ll have your custom build pc in only a few hours. The best part of it is that you’ll also get full manufacturer warranties.

iFlash For Litratong Pinoy: Tubig

May 25, 2008

Litratong Pinoy is a weekly tag open to Filipino-oriented photography people. Participants will be posting every Thursday a photograph which they own based on the week’s theme.

There are times when I just want to travel on a ferry boat. Even though there is not much to see at sea, taking a different mode of transportation gives of a good feeling. I just wish the water is clearer and the ferry is much faster.

David Cook Wins American Idol Season 7

May 24, 2008

If the finals night of American Idol Season 7 was a real boxing match, I guess the ringside will be full of medical people ready with their disposable gloves because it was indeed one hell of a match. Both contestants came in strong in their own respective rights.

I have to admit that hands down, David Archuleta outperformed David Cook that night. Though I don’t think that it was a knockout match in favor of Archuleta as Simon Cowell thinks, I would have given rounds 2 and 3 to the young David.

No Need To Rush

May 24, 2008

They say that 30 is the new 20. However, I don’t think some women, especially those still single, will find any consolation in that. For some, they start to worry on the difficulty that they will encounter upon giving birth. So some tends to rush in to relationships despite being uncertain just to appease such worries.

How I wish that they managed to think things over. Unlike PMS symptoms, there is no progesterone to relieve your pain from being married to the wrong person.

After The Bout, Which David Will Fall?

May 22, 2008

I just saw the finals night of American Idol Season 7 and what can I say? I’m actually speechless. Not because it was a stunning finals night but because aside from the thousands of people inside the theater, there was really nothing grand with it. Well, Simon did wear a suit for a change.

I am actually a bit disappointed with David Cook. This was the moment where he should have shined all the more and yet I think he lacks the luster on finals night. Hands down, David Archuleta picked a better song for round two.

Archuleta might actually win Idol but expect Cook to deliver songs that will heat up the charts. Lastly, do you think that it was indeed a knockout? I don’t.

Phone Cards For Those Missing Home

May 21, 2008

With my cousin about to leave for abroad this Saturday, my aunts have a long list, as long as their phone cards can handle, of things for her to bring to them starting from string beans to cup noodles. I guess you will really miss a lot when you are working overseas. She’ll probably be carrying around 20 kilos of boxed goodies.

As the day of her departure nears, I know that my aunts will still be rushing for more Manila calling cards for their last minute changes.

Aliwan Fiesta 2008 On ABC-5

May 20, 2008

If you missed the three-day Aliwan Fiesta last May 1-3 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines ground, here is your chance to see the event. Manila Broadcasting Company will be airing a two-part Aliwan Fiesta television special over ABC-5 on May 24 and 31. Too bad my source failed to specify the time. :(

Aliwan Fiesta 2008

Anyway, ka-Noypi-ng Gabe Mercado will be the one hosting the special. And if you can, promise yourself as I did to catch it live next year. You definitely won’t regret it.

Tips To Determine A Good Web Host

May 20, 2008

Say you are just starting out as a photographer. You give your business card to a potential client, the client checks out your online portfolio and saw an error page instead. What impression would that give you? Bad! And it’s all because you got a cheap unreliable web host.

However, cheap does not automatically means unreliability. You just have to learn how to segregate the grain from the chaff. Make sure you have considered doing this simple test to determine if the service you’re getting is from a good web host:

  1. Try sending an email inquiry during weekends and take note of their response time. This will give you an idea on how long can they attend to any problem you might encounter.
  2. [Read more]
