David Cook Wins American Idol Season 7

If the finals night of American Idol Season 7 was a real boxing match, I guess the ringside will be full of medical people ready with their disposable gloves because it was indeed one hell of a match. Both contestants came in strong in their own respective rights.

I have to admit that hands down, David Archuleta outperformed David Cook that night. Though I don’t think that it was a knockout match in favor of Archuleta as Simon Cowell thinks, I would have given rounds 2 and 3 to the young David.

Then how did he lose to Cook, you might ask. I think it is because Cook managed to have a loyal following as a result of having a consistent performance and managing to impress and surprise Idol viewers more than Archuleta did all throughout the season. Yes he is cocky but it goes very nicely with his emo-rocker image.

I was surprised, yet happy, when David Cook was announced as the new American Idol. I also find Time Of My Life a perfect song for him. I couldn’t imagine Archuleta singing it as well as Cook did.
