Brooke White had her final stand on the American Idol stage last Wednesday as she became the 20th contestant voted off from Season 7. She singing I’m A Believer is a mismatch. Her vocals lack the strength and the fun that made that song a hit in the first place.
I guess after hearing Jason Castro week after week, you can’t help but wish that he’ll offer something other than his usuals. Sadly, he seemed to stick to what is most comfortable to him and I think I am about to cry, “enough already!”.
Emo rocking works best for David Cook. His second take on the Neil Diamond song is definitely better than the first one.
David Archuleta might be a good singer but there is nothing in his performances that compels me. I find his singing style a little hazy. Feel-good, yes; but hazy.
I fear that after being consistently in the bottom three, next week will be the last time I’ll see Syesha Mercado in the competition. Not because her performances does not measure up but because she seems to be unpopular to the voters.
This is not the Top 5 I was expecting to see. My bet was:
Cook, Johns, Smithson, Malubay, Syesha.
Brooke was very lucky reaching the Top 5 position. She should have been voted off a long time ago. I am not saying she and Jason doesn’t have the voice, arguably, the judges picked her as an early favourite and that Randy is always biased on their comments. How can they say Archu’s 2 performances was “the bomb”? He cracked on his 2nd song and didn’t judge him for that?
Not exciting as Season 5. You are right in your previous statement, judges made us think this is the most talented singers but ugh, they picked them wrong.
And I’m whining.
I agree, Syesha should go, so as Jason Castro. It would be Cook and Archuleta in the top 2!
Brooke is one of my fave contestant. I agree her “I’m a believer” wasn’t that good, but her version of “I am I said” Is the one performance I remember from that night’s episode.
Sad to see her go (SHould have been Jason who went home), but I think she can make an album that’s fitting her style.

i really think archu is overrated and with it, i expected that he’ll be one of the top 3 together with david cook. im very glad syesha made it to the top 3. but i think she’ll be the next to go and cook will emerge as winner.

im also seeing a showdown between the two davids and personally, i think cook will win this one. he deserves to be the idol more than archuleta.

i also liked brooke at the early stage of the competition. anyway, i think she’ll have a good future ahead of her even after idol.
