Heart Broken From Heartlessness

I do not know how to start this entry except to state that I’m having trouble starting this entry. The things that was said on Friday’s and Monday’s Senate hearing left such heaviness in my heart. I am not sure if everything that Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. revealed was true, but I am confident that not all of them were lies.
Corruption in the Philippine government is real. That is why despite the government’s effort of denying it; the public is not buying it. We have, as a testament to this, a number of government projects that have proven useless to the public.
I don’t see Jun Lozada as a man of courage, but simply a man who ran out of options. He admitted that he wanted to evade the Senate because he fears that his life will drastically change. Precisely what I would have felt should I were in his shoes.
I empathize with Jun Lozada because of the weaknesses he displayed. His hesitance to testify, the fears he showed, the tears he cried, and the hopelessness he felt; made him look like a regular guy, an ordinary person just like you and me.
Will you blame me for believing Jun Lozada over Ben Abalos? The former admitted to his sins while the latter haven’t owed up any. Either Abalos is completely innocent from all accusations hurled at him from the past or is simply a denying thief. Which is which?
I think the lady Senator who spilled all the anomalous undertakings Jun Lozada entered in to was even taken aback by a man who readily admitted to her accusations. Honesty is a rare virtue.

The two sides of the story cannot be both true. One is eventually lying. Regardless of who is telling the truth, the mess we are now seeing is a testimony of heartlessness in the Philippine politics.
May he who has no heart, receives one this Valentine’s day.

I believe Jun Lozada too …
I have no doubts about Abalos being dirty only because I personally know families who has suffered greatly due to his government project manipulations.
Aside from this, I can help but wonder of all those years of possible vote manipulation being the commissioner of elections for what 20 years? and that little “accident” when the voting machines burned to the ground. I just hate the guy!

thank you for the site reference. however, one thing i learned about taped conversations is that it achieves nothing but an “i am sorry” statement.
truth isn’t hard to find as long as the people who has it learns to speak. discernment does not solely rely on soundtracks but in seeing the larger picture. i’m guessing that the tape proves that lozada is corrupt but i dont think it proves that the greedy company ++ are innocent.
lozada is indeed no saint and by all means jail him too after all this commotion. though i have to admit that contrary to what i felt seeing chavit off the hook, i will not be bothered to see lozada free.
i am not advocating people power. it just starts another vicious cycle. i wish that a “total make over” be done in our government. only when the weeds are pulled out from the field can true reform begins.
