When The Speaker Can No Longer Hold His Peace

February 5, 2008 · Print This Article

Just right after coming back from a session recess, our congressmen’s main concern is who gets the speakership held on by Jose De Venecia Jr. for more than 15 years. A clear reflection of our lawmakers’ priority.

People might actually consider this event as another political crisis. However, I say that we have long been in a crisis. Only, we were left speculating about it until now. The crisis started since the day politicians, who shamelessly conceals corruption in exchange for their own interest, have managed to set foot in office.

In my eyes, Speaker De Venecia is just another Chavit Singson. Biting the hands that once fed him when his handler failed to give him a scratch.

I’m expecting no real change will come out of this event. Congress after all is just undergoing a timely face lift. The hands pulling the strings remains unchanged.

I know it has something to do with the political ambition of GMA. My God, it’s another circus in town!

    AMBO,
wala naman itong patutunguhan as far as filipinos’ welfare is concerned. honestly, i do not care kung ano man ang pinagsasabi ni jdv against the president. it could have made a difference if noon pa nya sana sinabi. jdv is just sour graping.

You’re right brother!

“Don’t we all know that already?”

    Oo nga naman…

I agree no real change will come out of this. He should have just went silently … instead of lashing out and siding with the opposition. It just made him look worse in my eyes.

    AMBO,
mali din kasi si jdv. akala nya pwede syang mamangka sa dalawang ilog. he should have broken his ties with the president the day his son came out in the open.

    JEPROCKS,
korek! kaya walang impact na ang mga pinagsasabi nya.

    ZERO V,
nagmukha talaga siyang batang nagmamaktol. is 5 term as speaker not yet enough for him?

Got something to say?
