Matt White – Love

February 29, 2008

In Response: iRonnie Selects Love Songs From A Movie Soundtrack

Love is much simpler than we think. It is only our situation and fears that complicates it. As Doctor Cuddy said in Season 3 Episode 19 of House M.D., “So many people, so much energy and drama just trying to find someone who’s almost never the right person anyway. It just… shouldn’t be so hard.” ~ iRonnie

Love by Matt White
Album: Best Days
Year Released: 2007

NOTE: This song was heard on the movie Because I Said So, but it doesn’t appear in the motion picture’s soundtrack.

Making music was the New Jersey-born White’s destiny from the very beginning. In fact, music ran in his blood – his parents played violin and piano, while his grandmother was among the first female jazz orchestra leaders of the 1930s. White studied piano at the Manhattan School of Music from the tender age of 3, training in classical performance, music theory and later, jazz improvisation. Read more…

“This Is My Beloved Son . . . Hear Him!”

February 24, 2008

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” (Matthew 17:5)

Peter and the other disciples were continually disoriented to God. While Jesus was concerned about one thing, it seems that the disciples were always distracted by something else. In order to help his three closest_disciples better focus on His imminent sacrifice on the cross, Jesus took them up to the Mount of Transfiguration. There, Jesus was transfigured into a glorious state and was joined by Moses and Elijah, two of history’s mightiest men of God. The disciples, however, were asleep! At one of the most profound moments in history, the disciples were more interested in sleep than they were in praying with the Son of God.

American Idol Top 24’s Elimination Round

February 23, 2008

Season 7 of American Idol is brimming with good talents. Though, I think the girls have more edge compared to the guys. I watched the Top 24’s presentation and loved David Cook’s performance of “Happy Together” and Alexandrea Lushington’s “Spinning Wheel”.

Last night, two guys and two girls have to bid farewell to their dream of being the next American Idol. America didn’t stood for Garrett Haley, Amy Davis, Joanne Borgella, and Colton Berry.

Love doesn’t always end like fairy tales. They say that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, yet to those who are hurting, it never gives any consolation. ~ iRonnie

Jumper

February 20, 2008

A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them. [Source: Yahoo! Movies]

I am a little disappointed with this film. It is one of those movie with a good concept gone to waste because of a poor plot. The movie ended with a slight hint that a second part might actually be on the way. This might actually be a good opportunity for the film to redeem itself. However, I don’t think I am eager to see a sequel in the near future.

Also, the protagonist’s careless, stupid, arrogant, and naive character only added to the reasons of why I dislike the movie. The story opens to a Jumper the possibility to land anywhere, anywhere except my list of favorite movies.

The Game Called Search Engine Marketing

February 20, 2008

I once had a problem with my blog appearing on search results. There are times that I appear as one of the top result on one search engines while falling way back in line on another search engine for the same keyword.

Anyone who owns a website, especially those involved in Search Engine Marketing, knows that this means potential profit is not being maximized. That is why I think that it is important that if one is into doing online business, he must invest time and money to optimize his presence in the web.

Find an online marketing service firm that can boost you to land naturally on top of every major search engine. This will help maximize your web sales and be favorable for your venture.

A word of advice, make additional effort to spot and avoid search engine marketing malpractice that helps other companies more than yours.

Deny Yourself

February 17, 2008

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (Matthew 16:24)

Sin causes us to be self-centered, shifting our hearts from God to self. The essence of salvation is an about-face from self-centeredness to God-centeredness. The Christian must spend a lifetime denying self. Our great temptation will be to affirm ourselves while we follow Jesus. James and John did this when they chose to follow Jesus but asked for the two most prominent positions in Jesus’ kingdom (Mark 10:35–37). James and John wanted a discipleship that would not impede their personal desires and aspirations. Like them, we say, “Lord, I want to be pleasing to you, but I want to stay where I am.”
