What could be as exciting as a visit to the Sea World Adventure Park and enjoying a San Diego night life afterwards? The Manila Ocean Park. Located just behind the Quirino Grandstand in Manila and expected to open this February 2008, this ocean park will be the biggest of it’s kind in Asia.
Originally scheduled to open December 2007, the 8,000 square meter facility owned by China Oceanis Philippines Inc. boast for a main attraction its 25-meter long walkway tunnel with 220-degree curved acrylic walls similarly seen in Ocean Park Hong Kong, Singapore’s Underwater World in Sentosa and Malaysia’s Aquaria.
Construction of a marine themed mall and hotel as well as an open marine habitat where visitors can do outdoor swimming, snorkeling, or diving are also expected to be completed within the year.
The 1.2 billion peso Manila Ocean Park, will be the Philippines’ first world-class oceanarium. Entrance fees will range between PhP 200 (for students) to PhP 400.
