Christmas Rest

I noticed that a lot of house in our neighborhood retired earlier than the previous years. Lights and videokes were already off around 6pm.

As I woke up on Christmas morning, I noticed that I’ve lost the excitement I had when I was a kid. Though I did enjoy preparing for my godchildren’s gifts, the magic of Christmas day was gone. If Santa’s sleigh is indeed powered by Christmas spirit, old Nick would have to take the bus.

I guess Christmas is indeed for kids and without any in our house, it has been like any other ordinary day. An ordinary day with LOTS of visitors.

Click Flick: The pug seemed to have been wearied by the Christmas rush. The picture’s almost sepia tone enhanced the dog’s expression and have highlighted the red Santa hat.

Hi Ron Merry Xmas, thought I greeted you earlier but well, yes indeed twas like, “uy tapos na Xmas?”. Apparently the lines was very busy till like 2am when I called sa Bicol and obviously tulog na sila. Pero I managed a small plesantries with my Nanay nag pa-inggit ng Spaghetti.

We didn’t spend that thing called “Xmas” with my nephews here – they said, it’s really expensive to ask for a gift na so I was harrassed for a “Cash gift” instead but since wala naman akong maibigay, we hugged and kissed na lang sabay sabi sa Chinese New Year na lang daw which we celebrate more than Xmas, very influential yung Ang Pao kasi. I’ve seen adults were the ones really enjoying the season – SHOPPING galore.

    Merry Xmas again.

    PUG,

siguro as we grow old we have to look at christmas in a different angle and find joy in it na. i think it is no longer accurate to compare a kids source of joy with ours. :D

Doesn’t have to be! If you think about it, it’s the parents that made it exciting for the kids! Maybe next year you can make it exciting by getting excited about it. :) a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :)
