Looks like Rihanna made a big hit out of Umbrella that a lot of artists have made a cover out of the song. Though I can’t find the album cover (perhaps because there isn’t any) for Scott Simons’ rendition, I think he did a good job on this one.
For the first time in his career, Scott is flying solo as both a songwriter and performer. As the primary songwriter of The Argument, Simons became adept at writing hooky pop songs with incredibly infectious melodies.
“I’m just trying to be honest with who I am and what I write,” he says. “And that’s the main thing driving my new career. When I was writing for the band, I started to become afraid that I was running out of tricks or my ideas didn’t fit in the context of the band. But now I figure, I’ve been writing for awhile and ive written a lot of stuff. I am what I am.”

Haven’t heard Rihanna’s version tho he’s aight with this one, the title ‘umbrella’ connotes to “something else” for a guy. hehehe.

grabe ang tagal kong pinagmuni-munihan ang sinasabi mong connotation. bwahahaha! ang alam ko lang kasing tawag dun is kapote and not umbrella.
