Manila Chinese Cemetery
November 8, 2007
PixeLog is now powered by WordPress.
Last week, I finished converting my photoblog from Pixelpost to WordPress. I opted to do the switch since I tend to tweak my theme a lot and it is quite hard doing it in Pixelpost since you have no access to it via the control panel. Sadly, I wasn’t able to export all comments.
Now serving on PixeLog is a series of photos I took when I managed to visit the second oldest cemetery in Manila, the Manila Chinese Cemetery. We originally planned of taking pictures at the La Loma Cemetery but due to some unpleasantness we encountered, we just decided to transfer. I’m sure glad we did.

THREE THINGS I WON’T LET GO
[1] I will not let go of faith. For we cannot fight life’s uncertainties using our own power. We need faith to turn to Someone who stands constant amidst all the inconsistencies.
[2] I will not let go of learning. For we cannot stay stagnant. Either we improve or deteriorate and I think it is only wise to choose the former. After all, knowledge is not limited in books.
[3] I will not let go of fun. For life only becomes sweeter when we enjoy a dose of it’s pleasure with those we love.
This tag was passed on to me by Marni of Midori-X and I am now requesting the following to list the three things that they are not letting go as well: Lizeth, Marge, Ely, Rebecca, and Aldo Rey. Guys, you’re free not to do this if you don’t feel like it.
My Zen Creation
November 6, 2007
I got a free Juniper plant last Saturday from a business contact. I have been wanting to have one ever since.
I took the drip tray of my herb box so that I can put the plant in my room. Since the drip tray is way bigger, I used the pebbles, rocks and shells of our aquarium and placed an incense cone in it to create a Zen-like arrangement.

God Uses the Common

“Those who try to keep their lives will lose them. But those who give up their lives will save them.”
Luke 17:33
Heaven may have a shrine to honor God’s uncommon use of the common.
It’s a place you don’t want to miss. Stroll through and see Rahab’s rope, Paul’s bucket, David’s sling, and Samson’s jawbone. Wrap your hand around the staff that split the sea and smote the rock. Sniff the ointment that soothed Jesus’ skin and lifted his heart…
I don’t know if these items will be there.
But I am sure of one thing—the people who used them will.
The risk takers: Rahab who sheltered the spy. The brethren who smuggled Paul.
The conquerors: David, slinging a stone. Samson, swinging a bone. Moses, lifting a rod.
The caregivers: Mary at Jesus’ feet. What she gave cost much, but somehow she knew what he would give would cost more.

Death Is Not Final
November 2, 2007
“I will tell you something that has been secret:
that we are not all going to die,
but we shall all be changed.”
~ 1 Corinthians 15:51 ~
Our deaths are not final.

Aside from remembering our loved ones who passed away,
may we also take the time to reflect on the kind of life we are living.
John Mayer – No Such Thing
November 2, 2007
This November, let’s take a road trip with songs I love to listen while cruising on long and wide highways where you can just open your car window and sing to the top of your lungs. Just a reminder, maintain alertness when performing such stunts. Enjoy!
