Credit Cards Are Good Servants

November 15, 2007

Without living the comfort of my home, I have already bought my best bud an advance Christmas gift. This is actually my second online transaction. Thanks to e-commerce and my Credit Card, the world has grown a little smaller making products more accessible to consumers like me.

Credit Cards are now widely accepted in almost any establishments. It is in fact safer to carry them around in lieu of large amount of cash. However, just like real money, they are a good servant but a bad master. Wisdom should be exercised when using them.

With offers and privileges like cash backs and reward points that goes with them, we should be like the Credit Card UK consumers who finds the best deal to suit their purchasing needs before signing up to offers popping in their mail boxes.

Thanks Teacher, Now Go Away

November 14, 2007

I just had two conversations over the phone today regarding a certain problem and my blood pressure have shoot to 130/90 and I am now stuck with this freaking issue inside my head. I had to overdose my self with the scent of sandalwood just to relax myself.

I know that experience is a great teacher. However, why are there times that this teacher just can’t move on to the next topic.

Okay already! I knew I was wrong! Could we now move on?!

Why do this problem never seemed to end? :(

Behind The Decision

November 13, 2007

I have always wanted to put up advertisement codes in my blog. Not because I wanted to make money out of my blog but because I find those ads visually stimulating. Simply put, I wanted them for their aesthetic value more than their monetary benefit.

When I decided to acquire my own domain, a friend discouraged me because he thinks that money should only be spent for things that can return profit or is a good investment. Blame Francisco Colayco, author of “Pera Mo, Palaguin Mo” for it. But my long time dream of having my own www was so strong that I shut my ears from his advice. However, I believe that he is right. So I decided to venture in paid posts and with less than a month, I have managed to secure the amount I need to run my domain for the next two years.

Something To Be Thankful For

November 12, 2007

Dad had a stroke around two months ago. I am only writing about it now since we didn’t want words to reach my sister then who just recently flew abroad. Missing home and worrying about it can be too much to handle.

Dad took a nap for his afternoon siesta and when he woke up, he said that he had trouble slipping on his sandals and he felt that his left arm was weak. He didn’t informed mom about it. She only noticed that he was talking like drunk and that his left cheek was sagging. She then knew that he had a stroke.

Minimizing The Impact Of Loss

November 12, 2007

Filipinos are not as conscious as Americans when it comes to insurance coverage. Most of us view it as an additional expenditure and in the case of life insurance, as a bad sign of anticipating death.

Such views are mainly due to our lack of understanding on the benefits that insurance brings. Simply put, insurance transfers the burden of loss from one shoulder to another in exchange for a premium. It therefore relieves us or our loved ones, from the anxiety, worry, and stresses of financially coping up to a certain loss.

He Understands

November 11, 2007

“God even knows how many hairs are on your head. So don’t be afraid.”
Matthew 10:30-31

Why did Jesus grow weary in Samaria (John 4:6), disturbed in Nazareth (Mark 6:6), and angry in the Temple (John 2:15)? Why was he sleepy in the boat on the Sea of Galilee (Mark 4:38), sad at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35), and hungry in the wilderness (Matt.4:2)?

Why? Why did he endure all these feelings? Because he knew you would feel them too.

He knew you would be weary, disturbed, and angry. He knew you’d be sleepy, grief-stricken, and hungry. He knew you’d face pain. If not the pain of the body, the pain of the soul…pain too sharp for any drug. He knew you’d face thirst. If not a thirst for water, at least a thirst for truth, and the truth we glean from the image of a thirsty Christ is—he understands.

And because he understands, we can come to him.

Wise Gift In Time For Christmas

November 10, 2007

Kids have always waited 365 days for the merriest season of the year, Christmas. Ironically, most grown-ups dread it because fun as it may seem, it is also the busiest time of the year. However, we can avoid rushing for our Christmas gifts if we learn to organize, prepare, and plan beforehand.

Naruto Manga 377: Battling Against Three Rinnegans, Three Times The Trouble

November 10, 2007

Just as I thought, the two characters summoned by Pain are not just Akatsuki members. They could not possibly be a shadow clone for they possess an appearance different from their summoner. Whatever they are, their presence multiplied Jiraiya’s trouble by three for both of them possesses their own Rinnegan. [Read more]

Macy Gray – I Try

November 9, 2007

Let’s slow down a bit to the music of Macy Gray. I love the way she did this one. I can’t help but sing with her even though I’m not that familiar to the lyrics.

Macy Gray (born Natalie McIntyre September 6, 1970) is a Grammy Award winning neo soul/R&B singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. To date, Macy has released four studio albums, one compilation album and a live album. She has acted in a number of movies including Training Day, Spider-Man and Scary Movie 3, Gray is best known for her international hit single “I Try”, taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is.

A Comfortable Second Skin

November 8, 2007

In the past, people do not give a damn on mens underwear. Men would readily pick up any brand as long as it is cheap. Today however, with our young population, young professionals are spending reasonable money for the undergarments that brings them the best comfort.

I believe that it is important to choose your undergarments wisely since they will act as your second skin. In my case, I love to wear those with light materials and a soft, comfortable fabric. It is perfect for a tropical country like ours’. I do prefer wearing boxers over briefs since I think that it is less scandalous walking in the house wearing the former. Also, you can throw me a 100% cotton tops anytime.

Men should give importance to their undergarments whether it is their socks, tops, jockstraps, and especially their sleepwear. Needless to say, your confidence and your peace is only as good as your comfort level. If it makes you feel good, go for it.
