Termites: A Home Wrecker
November 19, 2007 · Filed Under All Entries, iRonnie
Contrary to fire that could wipe things in minutes, termites slowly reduces your house to nothing if left unchecked.
The house we are currently living probably dates back to more than thirty years. Half made with concrete and half with wood, we could now see things falling apart quite literally. A quick inspection of the house will reveal how much damage the infestation has done. They even managed to create a wood tunnel inside my very own cabinet. Surprisingly, they even infest cracks in our concrete walls.
I guess we can salvage very little with our house. Hopefully, God permits; we can finance constructing a new house at most two years from now. This time we’ll make sure to treat the soil against these creatures and to regularly conduct termite inspections.

We have the same problem. We used solignum, it’s a lot less now but we can still find that some parts of the house are still infested.
I’ve read somewhere that termites nest can be as far as a mile away … that’s why it’s so hard to get rid of them. We haven’t tried borax yet, I hear that works too.

In case of a termite invasion better ask for professional help!
As you said they can really destroy a whole house!

SIDNEY,
yup i forgot to stress that point out. i read that it is indeed to call for professional help and not just destroy their base as they tend to just transfer to another part of the house.

Our house is as old as i am, and you are right termites seem to consume it slowly. Our house is still standing though…
