Naruto Manga 372: Two Students Became One Fearsome Enemy?

Naruto Manga 372: A Country of Tears started with a battle between Jiraiya and Konan. It was a brief one (probably more on next chapter) as Jiraiya fired oil on Konan to prevent her from using her jutsu. We then learned from their little chit chat that Jiraiya thought that Konan were already dead.
Seeing that she is well, Jiraiya assumed that the other two students are alive and are also serving under Pain.
The chapter then showed us how the three orphans of war became Jiraiya’s students. As the chapter ends, Konan called Jiraiya to help Yahiko and Nagato who were being bullied by a chuunin from Iwagakure. Jiraiya arrived at the scene with the ninja already dead and was shocked upon noticing Nagato’s eyes.
I have a wild theory based solely on this manga episode. I think that…
but then again. I might be wrong.

me too. i’ve thought of that.
i actually have 2 theories.
1. same as your theory.
2. maybe, nagato was dying and yahiko gave his body as a host so that nagato would survive. or vice-versa. corny. but then i could be wrong.
can’t wait for the next naruto ultimate ninja battle game. in the narutimate accel game (naruto 4), only 4 members of the akatsuki were taken and made into character. sasori (hiruko form), deidara, itachi and kisame.
hopefully, konan will be included in the next installment. who knew paper would look so cool. and also big hinata, big ino and big kiba. they’re not included either.

my other theory is that the death of yahiko could have eventually caused nagato to perceive life as he does now.

hi well my theory was that the real pain was the 4th hokage. (just a super wild guess ^_^)
i used to think that way too back when the manga hasnt yet revealed that madara was behind it all. but who knows, you might end up right.
