Drenched

Life is not only full of mystery but is a mystery itself.

There are a lot of things going on in our life which we cannot understand. Sometimes we wonder why are all these things happening in our life. We go through a lot of trials and problems. We tend to question why are these things laid upon us. How we wish that we know.

But that is not the case. We don’t always need to know. It is in uncertainty that faith grows. For if all things are revealed… then we have no use for faith.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

To Each His Own

July 22, 2004

To each his own.
I often find myself saying this phrase this past days.

For the opportunity which I grabbed just a month ago thinking that it was a good catch only to find out that a better one is being offered just the other day. To each his own.

For the many times a grumbled due to life’s discomfort only to find out that a friend is undergoing a tougher one than I am. To each his own.

For the number of times I wanted to give up only to find myself encouraging someone dear to hang on. To each his own.

For the many opened doors I rejected and now wanting it back so badly. To each his own.

To each his own.
I often find myself saying this phrase this past days.

Kung Maari Sana

Nangangarap ang batong maging ibon,
Malayang katipan ng simoy at dahon.

Nangangarap ang tutubing maging bulaklak
Kaya natutulog nang bukad ang pakpak.
Nangangarap ang sampagang maging hamog
Kaya sasampatak ang ngiting ihandog.

Nangangarap ang hamog maging luha
Upang maihugas sa dibdib na luksa.
Nangangarap ang luhang maging bituin
Upang matanglawan ang matang may dilim.

Nangangarap ang bituing maging suklay
Sa buhok ng dalagang nalulumbay.
Nangangarap ang suklay maging tutubi
Sa mata ng paslit pagdating ng gabi.

Nangangarap ang ibong maging bato
At payapang sumabay sa pintig ng mundo.

So be thankful for your slippers.

Mask Of Sorrow

July 3, 2004

I just watched Spiderman 2 and I was surprised. I never thought that they will allow other people to know that Peter Parker is Spiderman. Well I am no comic fan so I really don’t know if he revealed himself to other people.

I was touched with the scene after he stopped the train. When he was about to fall due to exhaustion and the passengers rescued him and carried him inside. I said to myself, “Finally, it paid off.” All the sorrows, all the sacrifices, all the pain.. it finally paid off. It was a simple act of kindness compared to what Parker just did (he saved a number of lives on that train) but for me that was a big reassurance for what he was doing. A hero’s life is not an easy one.

Most of us wears our own masks and those masks brings us sorrow. I was specifically happy that Parker need not hide behind Spidey’s mask. All fears, all worries, all sorrows, and all love was revealed in front of his one true love. He was able to show who he really was.. Peter Parker and Spiderman at the same time.
